Race Team Update – February 2024 Week #1

We already have one month in the books and the JConcepts race team shows no signs of slowing down out on the track! Take a look at our winning ways in this new edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report in the upper Northwest at Walla Walla, WA. Round 2 of the Northwest Rage Tour took place this past weekend which brought out 354 entries! Team driver Evan Roeth competed in five different classes and took the win in three of them!

  • 1/8 Electric Truggy = 2nd place
  • Mini Truggy = 1st place
  • Spec 1/8 Electric Buggy = 1st place
  • 18U 1/8 Buggy = 3rd place
  • Mod 4wd Buggy = TQ and 1st place

He also earns our coveted “ironman” award this week for competing in the most classes at one event!

Also competing at this race was team driver Robert Sorjonen in the Pro4 Short Course Truck class, and he would come home with the win after running the AA Mains!

Staying in Washington let’s now head to the city of Monroe where the Evergreen State Fairgrounds are located. This site hosted Round 6 of the DieHard RC Winter Series, and JC driver Tyler Wilbur finished 2nd overall in Mod 2wd Buggy!

Heading south we now head to Coyote Hobbies Indoor RC Raceway in Victorville, CA for our next update. JConcepts driver Jeff Guest raced there last weekend for the California State Championships that were held there. He signed up for the 40+ 13.5 2wd Buggy class and would finish the event with a TQ and W!

Shooting over to Texas let’s stop in Indy RC World in Garland to see how the team finished up at their recent 1:10 Showdown event.

Starting with team driver Edwin Ortiz he would wrap up this event with a 4th place finish in the Pro4 Short Course Truck class!

Team driver Tyler Keel competed in the Mod 2wd Buggy class and would lock up the 3rd podium spot!

Joining him on the podium in 2nd place was fellow JC driver Jaxen Anderson, and he also finished 3rd overall in Mod wheeler!

Kicking it up to Kansas we stop in at RC Pitstop & Raceway in Newton for a few updates from the team who competed at their recent 2024 Winter Carpet Classic trophy race. Starting with team driver Ken Peterson he let us know he finished 8th in 13.5 4wd Buggy, 3rd in Mod 2wd Buggy and took the TQ and win in 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy!

Taking the TQ and win in the Mod 2wd Buggy class was fellow JConcepts driver Mason Herrick! He also snagged another TQ and win in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class as well!

Continuing north we now stop in at Omaha, NE where the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) is located. On Saturday they held Round 1 of their Double Dip Series, and team driver Emerson Sturgeon set the TQ and then took the win in the 13.5 Stadium Truck class!

Team driver Andrew Thomas competed in the Mod 2wd Buggy class where he finished 4th overall!

On Sunday they held Round 5 of their Dirt Oval winter series, and team driver Will Brinton would set the TQ then race on to take the win in the 410 Sprint class!

Moving into Iowa we now head to Island Speedway in Muscatine for this quick report from JConcepts driver David Fast. On Saturday he competed in their Dirt Oval Point Series and he finished 4th in 410 Sprint and 3rd in 360 Sprint!

Working our way into Wisconsin we head to the town of New Franken where Dirt Heaven Hobby & Raceway is located.

They recently held another round of their Winter Points Series, and team driver Ryan Derenne would finish 7th in Mod Stadium Truck and 4th place in 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy!

Staying in the state we now travel to Trackside Hobbies and Raceway in Brookfield. This past weekend they held another round of their SNF Series and team driver Cody Meiferdt set the TQ in both the 13.5 Stadium Truck and 17.5 2wd Buggy classes!

He would then race on to finish 5th in buggy and took the win in truck!

Kicking it down to Kentucky let’s now check in with JC driver Wade Piggott. This past weekend he competed at RC Arena in Middlesboro for Round 1 of their Points Series. He raced in three classes and put in solid results in all of them!

  • Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy = 2nd place
  • Open 1/8 Nitro Truggy = TQ and win
  • Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy = 2nd place

Moving over to Ohio we now stop in at En Hobbies & Raceway in Columbus for this quick update from team driver Brandon Marsh. This track hosted the Ohio Stock Championships, and after qualifying was over he was able to grab the TQ in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes along with 13.5 Stadium Truck! After all the mains were ran he would finish 2nd in the 17.5 class, plus took two wins in 13.5 wheeler and stadium truck! He also received the Stock Championship title for his solid finishes in both the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes!

Cutting the corner we now visit RC Madness in Enfield, CT. Last Friday night team driver Andrew Bishop competed in their point series where locked up the TQ and W in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

Moving down the coastline let’s stop in at Thunder Alley RC Speedway in Lucama, NC to see how the team finished up at Round 4 of their Super 7 Series.

Starting with team driver Josh Parrish, he signed up for the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes, and he would set the TQ in Mod 4wd Buggy, then race on to finish 3rd in both classes!

Taking the win in the Mod 4wd Buggy class was fellow JConcepts driver Dave McEwen! Dave also set the TQ and took the win in the Mod 2wd Buggy class too!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Brett Kingsbury. This past weekend he raced at Sundancers RC Raceway in Port Saint Lucie, FL at the finals of their points series.

He competed in the Pro 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes, and he would grab the TQ in e buggy, plus the wins in both classes!
