Race Team Update – February 2024 Week #2

The JConcepts race team shows no love for the competition as they continue to dominate on tracks around the globe. Read more about our winning ways in this fresh edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report out at RC Madness in Enfield, CT. This past weekend they held their February Freeze trophy race so let’s see how the team finished up starting with team driver Eric Bresnahan.

He competed in the Short Course and Stadium Truck classes, and he would wrap up the event with a TQ in Short Course plus wins in both truck classes!

JConcepts driver Matthew Sousa competed in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes at this race, and he would double down with two TQs and Ws in both!

Joining him on the 17.5 2wd Buggy podium in 2nd place was fellow JC driver John Cravotta! John also finished a respectable 6th place overall in Mod 2wd Buggy after competing in this class with his 17.5 car too!

Next, let’s head down to Phil Hurd Raceway in Savannah, GA for our next report from team driver David Olsen. He raced there last weekend in their Colonel’s Winter Classic event, and he would set the TQ and finish 2nd in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy class along with picking up the win in the Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy! Joining him on the nitro buggy podium were fellow JC drivers Cole Kasten (2nd) and Julien Oliveras (3rd) to complete the JConcepts podium sweep!

Shooting over to Texas we get our next update from team driver Brian Henn. This past weekend he went to Gulf Coast Raceway in Porter to throw down laps at Round 2 of the HARC (Houston Area RC) Series. When the race had concluded he would finish 6th in 1/8 Electric Buggy, plus he picked up the TQ and W in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class!

Heading north we now stop in at Omaha, NE where the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) is located. This past weekend was Round 4 of their Winter Points series and team driver Riley Filbert finished 3rd overall in the Expert 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

Joining him on the podium to complete the JConcepts sweep were fellow JC drivers Jared Wiggins (2nd) and Mason Fuller (1st)!

Team driver Mason Herrick raced in the Expert 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes at this most recent round, and he would finish 6th in the nitro class along with a 2nd place in e buggy! It was also another podium sweep for the JConcepts team as he was joined by JC drivers Mason Fuller (1st) and Kaden Fuller (3rd)!

JC driver Brandon Kearney also competed in two classes at this series event. He would finish 5th in 1/8 Electric Truggy and 2nd overall in 1/8 Nitro Truggy! This also marked the 3rd podium sweep for the JC crew as he was joined by fellow team drivers Jared Wiggins in 1st place and Jake Stoeltzing in 3rd!

JC driver Ashton Abdul also competed in the Expert 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes, and he put in solid results with a 5th place finish in e buggy and 4th place overall in nitro buggy!

Heading to Iowa we stop in at Bad Fast Hobbies in Sioux City to see how the team performed at the finals of their Winter Series. Team driver Jake Wiggs competed in four classes at the finals, and he took the TQ and win in all of them!

  • 17.5 2wd Buggy = TQ & 1st place
  • Mod 2wd Buggy = TQ & 1st place
  • Mod 4wd Buggy = TQ & 1st place
  • 13.5 Stadium Truck = TQ & 1st place

When the series points were tallied up he would also finish first overall in each class too!

JC driver David Peavler also attended the finals and signed up for two classes. When the event was over he would set the TQ and finish 5th in 17.5 2wd Buggy, plus he picked up the W in the 40+ 2wd Buggy class!

Now we make our way to RC ONE Racing in Macomb Township, MI to see how the team finished up at the finals for the Midwest Carpet Off-Road Series. Starting with team driver Ilan Sanderson he let us know he finished 4th for the day in Mod 2wd Buggy, and for the entire series he would finish 5th in 17.5 2wd Buggy and 3rd place in Mod 2wd Buggy!

JConcepts driver Brandon Marsh was also the at the finals and set the TQ in the 17.5 and Mod 2wd Buggy class along with 13.5 4wd Buggy! He would then race on to finish 2nd in Mod 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy, plus picked up the win in the 17.5 class! After all the series points were calculated he would take home the class title in 17.5 and Mod 2wd Buggy along with 13.5 Stadium Truck!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of Australian team driver Ben Panic. This past weekend he competed at the Asian Buggy Championships held in New Zealand, and when the event had concluded he would finish 7th in the Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy class along with the win in 45+ Master 1/8 Nitro Buggy!
