The JConcepts Travel Team travelled out to Chandler, Arizona this past weekend for the 2024 Desert Classic hosted by Hobby Action RC Raceway. The event had a fantastic turnout with over 325 entries and was the largest edition of the event since being held at Hobby Action.
The surface at Hobby Action is always tricky for racers to get a handle on and an equally difficult layout just to throw a wrench into things. Even the best in the world were having a tough time getting comfortable going as fast as is was going to take to win the event. Racers were running different variations of the Smoothie 2 with most opting for the standard tire and standard inserts. Some were using the thick sidewall fronts and even some RM2 stiff front inserts.
