Race Team Update – March 2024 Week #3

The JConcepts team doesn’t rest over the traditional Spring Break week as they continue to put in winning runs on tracks around the globe. Read all about it for yourself in this new edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report down at Mike’s Gulf Coast RC Raceway in Porter, TX for Round 1 of the WFO Dirt Oval Series that took place there.

Team driver Brian Germany was in attendance and competed in the Outlaw Sprint class where he took the TQ and win!

Fellow JConcepts driver Cody Babbitt competed in the Midwest Mod, Late Model and SC Mod classes at this race and set the TQ in all of them! After the mains were ran he would finish 2nd in SC Mod, plus picked up the wins in Midwest Mod and Late Model!

JC driver Kevin Mcnatt also ran in the SC Mod class and took the win in the A Main!

Fellow team driver Kevin Lenderman reported that he finished 4th in Midwest Mod and took the W in the 10.5 Sprint class!

Team driver Noel Cerda would finish 4th overall in the 10.5 Sprint class, plus he set the TQ after qualifying had concluded!

Heading to the east coast we stop in at The Hobby Connection in Easley, SC for our next update. Team driver Ennis Graves recently went there to compete in their Icebreaker trophy event and he would grab the final podium spot in the 1/8 Nitro Truggy class!

Nudging north we cross into North Carolina to check on on the team competing at a few different events. We first stop in at Thunder Alley RC Speedway in Lucama to see how the team finished up at the finals for their Super 7 Series. Team driver Josh Parrish reported that he took the win in the Mod 4wd Buggy class, and joining him on the podium in 2nd place was fellow JC pilot Dave McEwen!

Dave also competed in the Pro4 SCT class where he took the TQ and win! He also set the TQ in Mod 4wd Buggy and took home another W in the Mod 2wd Buggy class! When the series points were tallied up he would finish 2nd overall in Mod 2wd and 1st place in mod wheeler!

Our next report in the state is from team driver Derrick Harris. This past weekend he went to Red Brush RC in Mount Airy to compete in their season opener in the 1/8 Electric Truggy and Buggy classes. After the dust hada settled he would lock up 3rd place in both classes!

Working our way over to West Virginia we stop in the town of Parkersburg where Eds RC Parkersburg is located. This track held their West Virginia State Championship trophy event and team driver Wade Piggott competed in three classes. He would set the TQ in the SCT and 1/8 Electric Buggy classes, and then raced on to finish 1st in both, plus picked up another victory in the Mod 4wd Buggy class!

Bouncing over to the Hoosier state we get our next report from team driver Brandon Marsh. This past weekend he went to New Albany where the Hoosier RC Hobbyplex is located to compete in the final round of their Winter Series. At the end of the day he would set the TQ in the Mod 4wd Buggy class and then drive on to win in this class, and pick up another W in Mod 2wd Buggy! He was joined on the Mod 2wd Buggy podium by fellow JC driver Brian Dunbar who set the TQ in this class!

Next, we head over to Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs, MO to see how the team performed at their March Mayhem Off-Road Trophy Race. Starting with team driver Andrew Thomas he let us know that he finished 2nd in 17.5 2wd Buggy and picked up the win in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class!

JC driver David Alberico finished 2nd overall in the Mod 4wd and 2wd Buggy classes! Joining him on the Mod 4wd Buggy podium were fellow JC drivers Stevie Slover (4th) and Nick Gibson (TQ & 1st)!

Speaking of Stevie he also finished in 3rd place in the Mod 2wd Buggy class too!

Heading up I-29 we now make our way to Bad Fast Hobbies in Sioux City, IA to see how the team finished at the Ryan Hodgson Memorial Race. Starting with team driver Jake Wiggs he kept himself busy that weekend as he competed in four different classes with great results!

13.5 Stadium Truck = TQ and 1st place
17.5 2wd Buggy = 2nd place
Mod 2wd Buggy = 2nd place
13.5 4wd Buggy = 2nd place

He also earns our coveted “ironman” award this week for competing in the most classes!

Also throwing down laps for the team at this race was fellow JC driver Jacob Sweisberger. He finished 3rd overall in Mod 2wd Buggy, plus picked up the TQ and win in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

JC pilot David Peavler flew into this event late so he missed the practice sessions, but he was a quick learner as he finished the race 6th overall in Mod 2wd Buggy, plus picked up the win in the 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy class!

Next, we send it out west to Poorboy Raceway & Hobbies in Grants Pass, OR for this quick update from JC driver Jeremy Bunting. He recently competed in their Ice Breaker Monster Truck Challenge, and finished 2nd overall in the LMT Mini class along with picking up a win in the Retro class with his Shotgun replica ride!

Heading south into sunny California let’s see how the team faired at a few different RC events happening through the state. Starting at SDRC Raceway in San Diego team driver Chris Raceles reported that he attended Round 3 of their Supercross Series and he signed up for the 40+ 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes along with the 13.5 Stadium Truck class. He would go on to set the TQ in the stadium truck and 40+ 2wd buggy classes, plus he picked up wins in all three of them!

Heading to Chico let’s see how the team finished up at the grand opening of the new AMain Hobbies track which hosted a Mini Gold Cup trophy race. Team driver Kyle Layton would set the TQ and finish 1st overall in the Mod Sprint class!

His tire teammate Rob Moots finished 3rd overall in the Mod Sprint class, plus he set the TQ and finished 2nd in the 40+ class!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Clément Boda. This past weekend he went to Round 1 of the French TT 1/10 Electric Championship, and he would finish 2nd overall in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes!
