Race Team Update – March 2024 Week #4

The JConcepts race team keeps marching on as they continue to win on tracks around the globe! Read it for yourself in this fresh edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report out east at Trains and Lanes Hobbies in Easton, PA. This past weekend they held their Closer Cash Race that brought out 120 entries! Competing there for the team was JC driver Aydan Manchanda, and he would triple up at this event with three TQs and wins in Mod 2wd, Mod 4wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy!

Heading south we stop in at Adrenaline RC Raceway in Winchester, VA for our next update. Team driver Garrett Hawbaker competed there over the weekend for their Nitro Spring Fling Invitational event, and when the dust had settled he would finish 4th in Invite 1/8 Nitro Buggy, 3rd in Invite 1/8 Electric Buggy and 1st place in 1/8 Electric Truggy!

Continuing south we stop in at Thunder Alley RC Speedway in Lucama, NC to see how the team finished up at Round 2 of their MidWeek Mayhem Series. Team driver Josh Parrish reports that he finished 2nd in Mod 2wd Buggy and 1st place in 17.5 2wd Buggy!

His tire teammate Dave McEwen was also at this most recent round and doubled down with a TQ and W in Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy!

Kicking it over to Kentucky we make our way to Middlesboro where RC Arena is located. This past weekend team driver Charles Hicks raced there for Round 3 of their Winter Points Series, and he took the TQ and win in Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy!

Working our way to Wisconsin we head to the city of New Franken where Dirt Heaven Hobby and Raceway is located. This past weekend they held their 2024 Smack Talk Showdown trophy event which featured replica WWE traveling belts for each class. Each class winner got their name added to the belt, and then the driver could hold onto it till next year’s race. This year’s event brought out 124 entries so let’s see how the team finished up starting with team driver Ryan Derenne.

He would wrap up the event with a 12th place finish in 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy and 10th overall in Mod Stadium Truck!

Fellow team driver Richie Peters raced in the 17.5 and Mod 2wd Buggy classes along with 13.5 4wd Buggy. When it was all said and done he would finish 4th in Mod buggy, 2nd place in 13.5 wheeler, plus the TQ and win in 17.5 buggy!

Making a beeline down to Yukon, OK let’s catch up with JConcepts driver Tyler Keel.

This past weekend he attended Round 1 of the Taylor Park RC Raceway points series and finished 1st overall in the Mod Sprint class!

Shooting down to Indy RC World in Garland, TX let’s get a quick update from team driver Jaxen Anderson. This past weekend he attended their 2024 Ice Breaker event that saw 224 entries! He competed in the Open 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes, and he would set the TQ for the nitro class and race on to take the win in both! Joining him on the nitro buggy podium was fellow JC driver Kayty Roxberry in 5th place!

Heading west we now stop in at Hobby Action RC Raceway in Chandler, AZ. Team driver Adam Peters recently attended Round 4 of their March Madness Series, and he finished 2nd overall in Mod 2wd Buggy!

Now let’s get a few updates from our international team starting with French team driver Clément Boda. He and his fellow JC driver and mechanic Sebastien Mure attended a warmup race in the south of France for the 2nd French Championship. When the event had concluded he would finish in 2nd place in Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of Australian team driver Ben Panic. This past weekend he raced at the 1/8 Australian Nationals in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class, and he just missed the transfer spot to the finals by finishing in 2nd place in the Last Chance Qualifier behind the eventual overall winner!
