In this edition of the JConcepts Friday5 we talk to California team driver, Tyler Fenster!
1. How did you first get involved with racing RC cars?
One day I passed by Hot Rod Hobbies near my house. I loved to race anything when I was nine years old in 2010. From racing dirt bikes to RC cars, racing was in my blood. The first time I drove a RC car I fell in love with it.
2. This year you joined JConcepts as a new team driver. What are some of your goals for this year and what do you think you can bring or add to the existing team?
Some goals I have is to obviously win. But, as of right now it is to make the A Main show and prove what I got. As far as the team goes it is to help as much as I can with any question from anyone as possible. I think I could add some good help and insight on the products such as tires depending on each track from compound to compound and tire to tire.
3. If you had to guess where the 1/10 off-road electric racing scene is ten years from now, would you expect to see more dirt, carpet, or turf tracks and why?
In 10 years I expect to see more of everything hopefully. I think there’s good racing on all surfaces.
4. JConcepts is well known for its tires and bodies, but in your opinion what tool or accessory is a must have on race day that other drivers might overlook?
For accessories the Aluminum Ride Height and Camber Gauges are a must have.
5. You are obviously highly skilled when it comes to RC cars, but what is one skill or hidden talent that folks might be surprised to find out about you?
I used to race dirt bikes when I was younger. I started RC in 2009, but stopped racing dirt bikes in 2011.
