Race Team Update – April 2024 Week #1

The first weekend of racing in April is in the books for the JConcepts race team as they continue their winning ways. Read about it for yourself in this new edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report out in the upper northwest in Walla Walla, WA. Round 3 of the Northwest Rage Tour took place there and this round brought out over 160 entries! Team driver Evan Roeth competed in four classes at this 3rd and final round, and after all the points were calculated he would come away with three 1st place finishes!

  • Mod 4wd Buggy = 1st place
  • Spec 1/8 Electric Buggy = 1st place
  • Mini Truggy = 1st Place
  • 1/8 Electric Truggy = 2nd place

He also earns our coveted “ironman” award this week for competing in the most classes at a single event too!

Also racing for the team at this race was fellow JC driver Shane Preugschat. He finished 10th in 1/8 Nitro Buggy, 5th overall in 1/8 Electric Truggy and he also set the TQ and finished 2nd in 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy!

Next, we head down to Phoenix, AZ where Fear Farm RC Raceway is located at. This past weekend they hosted the Arizona State Championship, and team driver Adam Peters finished 2nd overall in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

Shooting over to Texas we stop in at Forth Worth where RCCA (RC Car Club of America) is located at. Team driver Mike Stoll recently competed there, and he took home two wins in the Expert 17.5 2wd and 4wd 13.5 Buggy classes!

Kicking it north to Kansas we stop in at Newton where RC Pitstop & Raceway is located. This past weekend they held the finals to their Winter Carpet Series, and after the points were tallied up JConcepts driver Ken Peterson would finish 1st in the Mod 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes!

Next, we make our way to Omaha, NE where the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) is located. Team driver Andrew Thomas recently raced there and he let us know that he set the TQ in both the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes, and would wrap up the day with a 2nd place finish in 2wd and 1st overall in 4wd!

Moving to Missouri let’s get this quick update from team driver Drew Spurgeon. This past weekend he went to Triple H Raceway in West Plains to compete in their Show Me 100 dirt oval trophy race which brought out 163 entries! He would end this event with a 6th place finish in the Mod Sprint class, plus 3rd overall in the Late Model class after bumping all the way up from the D Main!

Heading down to the southeast let’s stop in at the Rocket City Radio Controlled Race Club (RC3) in Huntsville, AL. This past weekend they held a season opener Tiny Trophy Race that brought out some big numbers with 173 entries! Team driver Randy Enger competed in both the 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes, and after the mains were ran he would finish 6th in nitro buggy and set the TQ and finished 2nd in e buggy! Joining him on the e buggy podium in 1st place was his tire teammate Jeremy Reid!

Making our way to South Carolina let’s check in with the team competing at a few different tracks in the state. Starting with team driver Derrick Harris he visited Overcash RC Raceway in Salisbury to get some laps in. He competed in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes, and in the end he would finish 6th in e buggy and 2nd overall in e truggy!

Our next report in the state comes to us from JC driver Dave McEwen. Last Friday he went to Thunder Alley RC Speedway Lucama to compete in Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy. At the end of the night he would sweep both classes with the double TQ and W!

Finally, let’s head up the coastline to Waldwick, NJ to get this final report from team driver Andrew Sreckovich. This past weekend he went to Cruizin With RC’s to compete in their season opener event.

When the event wrapped up he would finish 3rd in 17.5 2wd Buggy and 1st place in 13.5 4wd Buggy!
