Friday5 With Team Driver Conner Herrick

In this edition of the JConcepts Friday5 we talk to Kansas team driver, Conner Herrick!

1. When did you get your start with RC cars? Did you bash your RC cars at first or jumped right into the RC racing scene once you found out about it?

My journey with RC cars started back when I was much younger, probably around eight years old when dad brought home a Traxxas monster truck. I loved that thing! I would wait all day at school just to be able to go home and drive it!

2. This year you joined JConcepts as a new team driver. What are some of your goals for this year and what do you think you can bring or add to the existing team?

I’m hoping to further my 1/10 program as I have been doing more 1/8 the last couple years. I’m planning on doing more of the larger 1/8 events in the next couple years.

3. If you had to guess where the 1/10 off-road electric scene is ten years from now, would you expect to see more dirt, carpet, or turf tracks and why?

As far as 1/10 goes, I believe it will slowly turn to mainly carpet as it’s just easier for the owners to maintain.

4. Name one JConcepts product that you feel is overlooked by many but you find it very useful.

I don’t feel it is overlooked, but the Metal Car Stand is one of my favorite items as it has holes to hold both 1/8 and 1/10 shocks along with the caps! I just found out recently that the center three holes are perfect for diffs. I don’t see many using it for this.

5. You are obviously highly skilled when it comes to RC cars, but what is one skill or hidden talent that folks might be surprised to find out about you?

Something that I don’t show often, but absolutely love doing, is that I love to cook. No recipe, just off the top of my head. My meals never fail to impress!
