Race Team Update – March 2026 Week #3

The JConcepts race team continues their track momentum in the third week of March. Read about our winning ways in this fresh edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report out west in sunny California. There were several RC events taking place in the state so let’s see how the team faired starting with JC pilot Trever Adamo. This past weekend he competed at the So Cal RC Monster Truck racing series where he collected two wins in bracket one and two! Then in Pro Mod he put both of his replica Hang Time and Titan monster trucks into the finals and both brackets as well!

Our next stop in the state is at SDRC Raceway in San Diego. This past weekend this track hosted Round 1 of the JBRL 1:10 Off-Road Series. Team driver Connor Esbeck competed in three classes, and he would end the round with a 13th place finish in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy, 11th overall in Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy along with 2nd place in 13.5 Stadium Truck!

Also throwing down laps at this round was his tire teammate Chris Raceles. He competed in two classes and would finish 3rd in 40+ 13.5 2wd Buggy and 2nd overall in 40+ 13.5 4wd Buggy!

Our last update in the state was submitted to us from JConcepts driver Randy Tanaka. He attended the second round of the Spring Fever series at Auburn RC in Auburn, and he would end the day with a 2nd place finish in Pro2 Short Course Truck along with the TQ and win in the 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy class! Taking the W in the Pro2 class was his teammate Kyle Layton!

Now we head to the the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) in Omaha, NE. This past Saturday was the finals for their Winter nitro series that saw 189 entries! Let’s see how the team finished starting with JC driver Brandon Kearney.

When the season points were tallied up he would finish 5th in Expert 1/8 Nitro Buggy along with 1st place in 1/8 Nitro Truggy! Joining him on the truggy podium in 2nd place was his tire teammate Reiley Maiers!

JC driver Chad Rubenking would finish 6th overall in the points standing for nitro truggy, while in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class he would take home the season championship!

JConcepts driver Mitchell Pavel would finish 4th in points for the season in both the Expert 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes!

Team driver Jake Stoeltzing signed up to race at the finals, and when the dust had settled he would finish 3rd that day in the Expert 1/8 Nitro Buggy class! Joining him on the podium to complete the JConcepts sweep were his teammates Mason Herrick (2nd) and Seth VanDalen (TQ & 1st)!

Truck:

Making our way up to Minnesota we now visit FMRC (Fargo Moorehead Radio Control) in Dilworth. Last weekend was Round 5 of their Winter Series, and team driver Marco Moreno was a triple threat that day as he locked up 3rd overall in the 13.5 Stadium Truck class along with 13.5 4wd and 17.5 2wd Buggy!

Sending it south we now visit Bad Fast Hobbies in Sioux City, IA. Last weekend was their 2026 Ryan Hodgson Memorial Race, and team driver Jake Wiggs was a man on a mission!

  • Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy = TQ and 1st place
  • Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy = TQ and 1st place
  • 13.5 Stadium Truck = TQ and 1st place
  • Mod 2wd Buggy = TQ and 1st place

Those are some great results, plus he earns our coveted ‘ironman’ award this week for competing in the most classes at one RC event!

Continuing south on I-35 we now make our way to Fastlane Raceway in Blue Spring, MO. This past weekend they held their inaugural Icebreaker 650 dirt oval event that brought out 174 entries! Team driver David Fast was in attendance, and in the Open Late Model class he would miss the bump spot to the A Main, but in the Open Sprint class he had better luck as he would set the TQ and finish 3rd overall!

Fellow JC driver Jeremy Cathlina was also at this event and he put in some solid results!

  • 360 Sprint = 1st place
  • Open Sprint = 4th place
  • Open Late Model = 5th place

His tire teammate Nick Gibson was also making some left turn laps that weekend as he took the W in the Midwest Mod class!

Now we rock out and head over to Knoxville, TN. Located there is ROCCK Racing who was hosting their 13th Annual Tennessee State Championship that saw nearly 300 entries! Team driver Javon Mallory raced in three classes and made the podium in all of them!

  • Pro 1/8 Nitro Truggy = 2nd place
  • Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy = 3rd place
  • Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy = 5th place

Team driver Rylan Ruble was also at this event, and he would finish 7th overall in Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy, plus 2nd place in Pro 1/8 Electric Truggy!

Team drivers Andrew and Tom Bishop were also throwing down fast laps at this event. Tom would finish 6th in 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy and 5th in Pro 1/8 Electric Truggy! Andrew would double down in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes with two TQs and win!

Next, we head down to Florida for our next report. This past weekend the Florida Special Events Series Monster Truck race took place in Delray Beach which included an RC event. Team driver Dustin Spallone would grab the TQ and win in the Pro Mod Solid Axle Monster Truck and Mini Classes! JC mate Isaac Ankrom would take the wins in the Retro Class and Freestyle!

JConcepts driver Mike Bufka would tie for 3rd in Freestyle, take 2nd place in Pro Mod and he also grabbed the TQ in the Retro class!

Also mashing the competition was JC pilot Jeremy Bunting. He qualified 4th overall in Pro Mod and would then race on to the semi finals with his “Carnage” truck, a 5th place finish in Freestyle and in the Mini class he would make it to the semi finals!

Heading up the coast we now stop in at Turn and Burn Hobby & Raceway in Winston-Salem, NC.

Last weekend they held their March Madness trophy race, and team driver Derrick Harris would finish 6th in Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy and 3rd place in Pro 1/8 Electric Truggy!

Crossing the state line we now visit Adrenaline RC Raceway in Winchester, VA. Last weekend this track held their Spring Fling trophy race, and team driver Ben Decker signed up for three classes and came away with some stellar results!

  • Expert 1/8 Nitro Buggy = 2nd place
  • 1/8 Electric Truggy = TQ and 3rd place
  • Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy = TQ and 3rd place

Joining him on the nitro buggy podium to complete the JC sweep were fellow teammates Lee Setser (TQ & 1st) Colton Furnari (3rd)!

Continuing north we now visit The Track in Gaithersburg, MD. They also recently held a March Madness trophy race, and team driver Brian Miskolczi would finish 2nd in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class, while his tire teammate Matt Williard would secure the TQ and win, plus grab another TQ and W in the Vintage 2wd Buggy class!

Our next stop is in the state of Pennsylvania where a few different event were taking place. Starting with team driver Jonathan Sohl last weekend he attended the Season Closer Event at Trains and Lanes in the city of Easton. In the 17.5 2wd Buggy class he would miss out on the transfer spot to the A Main, while in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class he would make the A and finish 5th overall!

The next stop in the state is at Pheasantland RC in Boyertown. Team driver Matt Adams recently competed in the 2nd round of their Underdog series, and he would finish in the lower mains for the 360 Sprint class along with a 6th place finish in the A Main for Midget Sprint!

Also competing at this series was team driver Lance Batdorf. He also signed up for two classes and would just miss the transfer to the A Main for the 410 Sprint class, while over in the Midget Sprint class he would lock up 2nd place!

Bouncing over to the Hoosier state we now visit the Hoosier RC Hobbyplex in New Albany. This past weekend was their Winter points series finals, and after all the points were added up it was a podium sweep in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class for the JC crew with Lucas Smith finishing 1st, Wyatt Gaskins in 2nd and Bryson Furnish in 3rd! Bryson would also finish 5th in the Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy class and 2nd overall in Mod 2wd Buggy!

Now we head north again and make our way to Sandpit RC in Jonesville, MI. This past weekend they held the 6th round of their electric series, so let’s see how the team finished up starting with JC driver Michael Rinke.

He would compete in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class and set the TQ then race on to finish in 5th!

Also racing at this event was JCon driver Kyle King who finished 4th overall in this class!

Team pilot Tony Sosnowicz would lock up 3rd place in this class too!

Now let’s get some racing updates from our international team. Starting with team driver Ben Panic last weekend he and his son Zac competed at a 1/8 Buggy series event held two hours north of Sydney at Maitland. When the racing was over Ben would finish 6th overall in 1/8 Nitro Buggy, while Zac finished 3rd in the Juniors class, plus picked up the W in the Sportsman class!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Alberto Garcia. Recently he competed at the Spain Championships and would grab the win in the 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!
