Race Team Update – April 2026 Week #3

The JConcepts race team continues to pour down on the competition harder than a Spring shower. Read about our recent highlights in this new edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report up in the Pacific Northwest for Round 1 of the NCT (Northwest Championship Tour) that was held in Pasco, WA. Team driver Evan Roeth was ready to rip as he would finish 2nd in the Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy class, plus nab the TQ and win in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class!

Moving south we now stop in sunny California to see how the team faired at multiple events taking place in the state. Our first report is as SDRC in San Diego. Last Saturday team driver Chris Raceles competed in Round 5 of their Supercross Series, and he would double up with two wins in the 40+ Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes!

Our next report comes to us from JC pilot James Arluck.

He recently traveled Auburn RC in the city of Auburn to throw down laps in their Spring Fever points series where he finished 1st overall in the 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy class!

Next, we make our way to Minnesota for our next report from team driver Marco Moreno. This past weekend he went back to FMRC (Fargo Moorhead Radio Control) in Dilworth for Round 6 of their Winter Series, and he would come away with some solid results!

  • 13.5 Stadium Truck = TQ and 1st place
  • 13.5 4wd Buggy = 1st place
  • 17.5 2wd Buggy = 4th place

Making our way to Michigan we now visit the Krater R/C Dirt Oval Raceway located in Ionia. Last weekend was their “Let’s Get It” season opener trophy race, and Adam Forist was ready to roll and he would finish 4th in Outlaw Sprint and 3rd place in Outlaw Late Model!

Staying in the state we now visit Sandpit RC in Jonesville. This past weekend was the final round of their Winter Electric Series so let’s see how the team finished up starting with team driver Kyle King. He reported that he would finish 3rd overall in 1/8 Electric Buggy and 2nd place in 1/8 Electric Truggy!

His fellow JC driver Tony Sosnowicz would grab the TQ and win in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class at the finals, and when the points were added up he would finish 2nd overall in this class!

Our final report in this state was submitted to us by JConcepts driver Russ Bryant. This past weekend he attended the last race of the season for the Michigan Monsters of RC that held their event in Garden City, and he was able to grab a 3rd, 2nd, 1st and TQ award that day with his monster trucks!

Dribbling down to the ‘Hoosier state’ we now visit MPRC (Muncie Performance RC) Raceway & Hobby Shop in Muncie, IN. Team driver Wyatt Gaskins competed in the rear motor class for their Indiana Points Series event, and he would set the TQ then race on to finish 2nd overall!

Next, we pivot over to Pennsylvania for some updates from the team competing LCRC Raceway in Oakland Mills for their season opener that saw 418 entries! Team driver Mike Eglberger competed in the Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes and would just miss out transferring to the A Mains in both!

JC driver David Longaker was also throwing down fast laps at this event and he would set the TQ then drive on to take the W in the Intermediate 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

Fellow JConcepts pilot Aydan Manchanda competed in three classes at this race and he came home with some great results!

  • Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy = 3rd place
  • Expert 1/8 Nitro Buggy = 4th place
  • Expert 1/8 Electric Truggy = 4th place

Team driver Matt Williard reported that he set the TQ in the 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy class then drove on to take that win, plus he picked up another W in the 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy class! Joining him on the nitro buggy podium in 5th place was fellow JC driver Billy Papenberg!

Heading down the coast we now stop in at Turn and Burn Hobby & Raceway in Winston-Salem, NC. This track hosted the King of the Carolina’s series last weekend, and team driver Derrick Harris would finish 11th overall in 1/8 Electric Buggy along with a 5th place finish in 1/8 Electric Truggy!

Continuing south we now visit Sweetwater Raceway in Powder Springs, GA. This track hosted the ROAR Region 3 regionals last weekend, so let’s see how the team did starting with team driver Jason Westfall.

He competed in four classes as this race and not only did he do a fantastic job, but he also earns our ‘ironman’ award this week for competing in the most classes at a RC event!

  • Mod Stadium Truck = 1st place
  • Mod 4wd Buggy = 2nd place
  • 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy = 2nd place
  • Mod 2wd Buggy = 3rd place

His teammate Chris VanRaemdonck was also at this race, and he would net the TQ and win in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes!

Heading further south we now visit Mills Pond RC Speedway in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This track hosted Round 2 of the Florida RC Championships last weekend, and team driver Mason Montminy let us know that he finished 8th in Open 1/8 Electric Buggy along with a 4th place finish in Open 1/8 Nitro Buggy! Joining him on the podium in 3rd place was fellow JC driver Dalton Hashbarger!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Peter Seckold. Last Sunday he raced in Round 3 of the New South Wales Racing League held at the ORCCC (Orange Radio Control Car Club) in Orange, New South Wales, Australia. and he had himself a day as he would take the wins in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes plus a TQ in mod wheeler!
