This past weekend Thornhill Racing Circuit was the host of the 3rd round of the MSM Southern Showdown Series for 2026.
The event broke the record for attendance for the series with 230 entries. This was also the final 3-day event at Thornhill before the world championships so a host of drivers were there to get prepared for the World Championships. Friday was open practice all day followed by qualifying on Saturday and the main events on Sunday.
Qualifying was qual-points best 2/3 rounds for each class. The nitro buggy and ebuggy classes had drivers all grouped together and once the mains were over class distinctions were applied depending on the main events drivers placed in.

Nitro Buggy: 1st Phi-Long Nguyen, 2nd Jared Wiggins, 3rd Brandon Rose, 4th Tyler Hooks
Ebuggy: 1st Jared Wiggins, 2nd Phi-Long Nguyen, 3rd Brandon Rose, 4th Tyler Hooks
Truggy: 1st Reggie Tongue, 2nd Wade Moore (JC Privateer)
Moving into the main events, all of the nitro mains would be 30 minutes with 2 drivers bumping up from lower mains. Electric classes would be double a-mains.
