In this edition of the JConcepts Friday5 we talk to Texas team driver, Scooter Etheredge!
1. When you first got into RC racing, what pro driver did you look up to and why? Or maybe there was a local/regional driver that you followed?
When I first got into RC racing the local fast guy (MB) Mike Battaile was the guy I looked up to. All the battles between Mike, Frosty St Clair, and David Joor were awesome.
2. What is your favorite RC class to compete in and why?
My favorite class is 1/8 nitro buggy. Just seeing a four wheel buggy ripping around the track and flying through the air never gets old.
3. Drag racing in RC is huge right now. Why do you think this is, and do you think it is a “fad” or here to stay for many years?
RC drag racing will stick around for years to come. My reasoning behind that is companies like JConcepts are making very realistic bodies.
4. If you could change the current racing system here in the US, what would you change about it, and what would be the reasoning or goals behind your move?
I would love to see the hobby go big time and be on ESPN and other sports channels. It would help the hobby to grow. Seeing young people come into the hobby is awesome. They walk through the pits and see everything going on. They have the biggest smiles on their face.
5. To date what is your favorite JConcepts product of all time and why?
My most favorite JConcepts product would not be a certain piece, it would be all JConcepts parts. From the tires, to the bodies, you know you’re putting winning equipment on when it says JConcepts.
