The JConcepts race team was out in full force this past weekend at tracks around the world once again as the wins keep falling our way like a spring rain! Read this week’s Race Team Update to see where our drivers were making it rain, and bringing the pain out on the race track!
We start this week’s report down in Columbus, GA at the HobbyTown Columbus. They just held their 7th Annual Mega Bucks Shootout and we had several drivers in attendance so let’s get a few updates from the team to see how they finished up. Starting with JC driver Jason Westfall he reported that he finished 2nd overall in Mod 4wd Buggy and took the TQ and 2nd place in 1/8 Electric Buggy too! His wheeler ran on sanded down Silver compound Ellipse tires while his e buggy used Reflexes in the Green compound.
Teammate Chris VanRaemdonck also competed at this race and competed in the Mod 2wd Buggy class. He would set the TQ and finish 3rd overall while using a F2 body, a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing, Mono wheels and sanded down Green compound Ellipse tires!
Taking the win in this class was JC mate Kyle Paquette! He started 6th on the grid for the main event and took the win along with a $1,000 cash payout! He used sanded down Aqua compound Ellipses, a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing and a F2 body.
Staying in state we now go to Phil Hurd Raceway located in Savannah. They recently ran their NitroPro Shootout event and team driver David Olsen was in attendance. He reported that he ran in both the 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes and dropped out of contention in the main for the nitro class with engine trouble, but would also take the TQ and win in the electric class! He used Detox tires in various compounds for the race along with S15 bodies, F2I wings and Bullet wheels.
Now let’s head up the coast into North Carolina and check in with the team competing at the “Launch It In Lucama” event held at Thunder Alley RC Speedway in Lucama.
Starting with team driver Josh Parrish he reported that he competed in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class and finished 3rd overall! He used Green compound Reflexes mounted to Bullet wheels along with a Finnisher body.
Teammate Ken Rand Jr. competed in the 1/8 Pro Electric Buggy class and walked away with the W! He used Silver compound ReHabs mounted to Bullet wheels along with the new RM2 Bridge 1/8th Wing Button.
JC driver Luis Diego also competed at this race in both the 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes and set the TQ in both! In the Truggy main he would have bad luck and break out early to finish with a DNF and in E buggy he would lock up 2nd overall!
Now we get an update from our friend in Pennsylvania, team driver Tom Petrella. He recently went to LCRC Raceway in Oakland Mills for their 2021 Flash Point Season Opener race event. The event saw over 300 entries and he competed in both the 40+ and Expert 1/8 Nitro Buggy classes. He would just miss out on the transfer spot in the lower main for nitro buggy and in the 40+ class he finished 3rd overall! He used our Green compound Detox tires along with a S15 bodies on both cars.
Also competing at this event was JC pilot Matt Adams who competed in both the 1/8 Electric Truggy and Mod 2wd SCT classes. An electronics gremlin would end his chances to bump up into the main event in the truggy class, but he would go on to also take the TQ and win in the SCT class! His truggy ran on Green compound Reflex tires plus a Finnisher body while his winning SCT used Green compound Sprinters mounted to Hazard wheels plus a Hi-Flow body.
Now let’s check in with the team who was crushing the competition over in Waterloo, IL at a recent Trigger King R/C Monster Truck Series event. Starting with team driver Chris Parrish he reports that his Colossus ride won Bracket 2 of the Spec LMT class! And his replica Bearfoot Racer finished 2nd overall in Retro Bracket 2! And his Indominus ProMod finished 2nd in Freestyle as well! His monster trucks were decked out with the following JC goods:

Teammate Josh Rhodes took 1st place in the Retro racing bracket with his Bigfoot IV! His winning ride was equipped with the following gear:

Also competing was JC driver Daniel Agosh, or at least his truck was. His Executioner ride was piloted by Danny Mass while he was out of town for a full scale monster truck event and it made it the semis and finished 2nd overall! His truck used a 1988 Chevy Silverado Monster Truck Body and the Silent Speed 17T Adjustable Timing Competition Motor.
Team driver Jeremy Mark reports that in the Pro Modified class his Taurus rig made the finals while running on the following gear:

Teammate Doug Welker reported he didn’t have the best of luck at this event, but his truck looks dialed which is a win in my book! His custom Clod was decked out in Gold compound Firestorm Monster Truck Tires and a 1970 Chevy C10 | K10 Body.
And leading the team’s efforts was JC driver Chris Tolbert. He took a bite out of the competition was his Snake Bite trucks and won in the Sport Mod, Pro Mod and LMT Spec classes!
Now let’s go to Waite Park, MN which is home to Thunder Road RC Raceway. Our driver Thor Ott recently competed there for their Midwest Carpet Off-Road Championships and took the TQ and win in the Pro 17.5 2wd Buggy class with the new Fuzz Bite tries on all four corners!
Now we jump south into Iowa to check out the final round of the IORC Winter Series in Fort Dodge. Team driver Brandon Kearney competed in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes and would TQ and win in both that day! He used the new Fuzz Bite tires in his win that day and for the series he would take 3rd overall in Mod 2wd and 2nd place in Mod 4wd! For the series he also used the following JC widgets:

- Mono wheels
Heading further south we stop in at Central Arkansas RC Raceway in Mabelvale, AR to check on the team competing at the first round of the 2021 RC Pro East Series. Starting with team driver Dillon Caldwell he reports that took the TQ and win in both the 1/8 Pro Electric and Nitro Buggy classes! Both bugs used Green compound Blockers and Silencer and S15 bodies.
Teammates Braden and Calvin Bruce also raced at this event too. Starting with Braden he took 2nd overall in the 1/8 Pro Nitro Buggy class! Calvin would also take 2nd in the 1/8 Pro Electric Buggy class and both cars used Green compound Stalkers and S15 shells.
Now let’s check out the roundy round action at the 2nd Annual Icebreaker at Mojo Hobby Speedway in Oklahoma City, OK. Starting with team driver Heath Lawson he reports that he finished 2nd overall in the Outlaw Sprint class while running fast on Blue compound Ellipse tires on all four corners along with Mono rims.
JC driver Noel Cerda took the TQ and 2nd overall in the SC Mod class while using Hazard wheels in the black color option. He also qualified 2nd for the Latemodel A Main and would go on to take 1st place! In this class he used Green compound Dirt Webs up front with Ellipses in the same compound in the rear. All tires where mounted to the 9 Shot wheels in the black color option.
Team driver Kevin Lenderman reported that he finished 2nd overall in the Midwest Modified class running on Green compound Ellipses in both the front and rear! And he finished 3rd overall in Outlaw Sprint while using Dirt Webs up front, Ellipses in the rear and both in the Green compound while mounted to Mono wheels!
Now let’s fly out west to Salt Lake City, UT to get this next report from team driver Brady Anderson. He recently attended Eaton’s Intermountain R/C Raceway for their 32nd April fools Classic trophy race.
He finished 8th overall in 13.5 Stadium Truck, 20th in 17.5 Spec Mod Buggy, 11th in 13.5 4wd Buggy and 5th in 17.5 2wd SCT! He used Silver compound Ellipse tires on his buggies and Silver compound Octagons in the truck classes, plus he earns our coveted “Ironman” award this week!
Heading northwest we stop in at Spokane, Washington for this race update from team driver Derek Mesa who recently competed at the 2021 Northwest Arena Championship. He said he took the win in the 1/8 Juniors Nitro Buggy class, 5th overall in 1/8 Open Nitro Buggy and 13th overall in 1/8 Nitro Truggy! He used Green compound Reflexes on all of his vehicles.
Also competing at this event was JC driver Tony Corless who reported that he took the win in the 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy class! He used Blue compound Triple Dees, a S15 body and a F2I wing in his win.
Now let’s get a few updates from our overseas team starting with team driver Alberto Garcia. He recently competed at the 1/8th Spain Nationals and his car was running fast on Aqua compound Blockers, Blue compound Detoxes, a S15 body and a F2I wing!
Next we get a few updates from our Australian team competing at the King of the Hills event at Hills Off-Road in Sydney, Australia. This special event used a Reedy Race format and 10 rounds were ran with no drops. Starting with team driver Lachlan Donnelly, after his scores were added up for both the 2wd and 4wd classes he would finish 2nd overall! He started on Green compound Sprinters but as the track grooved up he switched over to Blue compound Ellipses. He also used the Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing with a Aero S-Type Rear Wing Center Divider.
Our final report comes from team driver Jarod Ment who was also at this event. He would finish 1st in the 2wd class, 4th overall in the 4wd class and when his scores were combined he would finish 4th overall for the event! He also started this event on Green compound Sprinters but as the track grooved up he switched over to Blue and Aqua compound Ellipses plus the same wing combo.
