The JConcepts race team stays red hot on the track as we start to transition to the cooler months of the year which you can read about in this week’s Race Team Update!
We start this week’s report out at Red Brush R/C Raceway in Mount Airy, NC. They were host to Round 4 of the TSOC (Two States One Championship) Series and let’s see how the team performed out on the track starting with team driver Josh Parrish.
He reported that he competed in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class and finished 2nd on the podium! He ran Blue compound Reflex tires during qualifying rounds 1 and 2, then switched over to the Aqua compound for the 3rd round and the A Main. He also used a S15 body, F2I wing and Bullet wheels.
Also competing at this race was teammate Jason Westfall. He would finish 2nd overall in Mod 2wd Buggy and take the win in 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy! His Mod 2wd ran on Blue compound Sprinters while his e buggy was ripping along on Blue compound Detox tires.
JC driver Jake Stikeleather also competed at this event and took the TQ and 2nd overall in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class! His buggy was running smooth on Aqua compound Blockers, Bullet wheels and a S15 body.
Heading north we visit City View Raceway in Concord, VA for our next report. Team driver Ken Rand Jr. recently raced there and wrapped up the titles in the 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes for the Cash Series Challenge II! He reported that the JConcepts Triple Dees worked great on the track’s slightly dusty and rutted surface.
Making a diagonal up to Gobles, MI we stop in at M40 RC Raceway where our driver Kyle Munson recently raced at. He was there competing at Round 5 of their Summer Points Series and competed in 4 classes, taking wins in all of them!

Dipping down into the ‘Land Of Lincoln’ we stop in at the city of Waterloo at J. B. Scale Graphics Field of Dreams for the Trigger King RC Monster Truck Series Finals. Team driver Josh Rhodes reports that after the series wrapped up his Bigfoot IV and Grave Digger II Retro class trucks would lock up spots one and two on the podium! In the Losi LMT Spec Class his Airforce Afterburner rig would win at the finals and end up in 3rd place for the season! And in the Freestyle class his Grave Digger LMT would also end up on the podium when the points were added up as well!

Also competing at the finals was teammate Chris Parrish, and after the racing was done his replica Bearfoot Racer truck would finish 3rd overall for the season in the Outlaw Retro Racing class! His truck was decked in the following JC goods:

Our next stop is in Omaha, NE where the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) is located. This past weekend they held Round 5 of their Summer Series and let’s get some updates from the team starting with team driver Bradley Peterson.
He reports that he competed in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes and finished 1th in Mod 2wd and 6th overall in Mod 4wd! His buggies were running fast on Gold compound Dirt Webs and Ellipses along with P2 and S2 bodies and Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 6.5″ Rear Wings.
JC mate Ethan Delair reported that he finished 3rd in Mod 2wd Buggy and took his 1st win at this series in Mod 4wd! His 2wd car used Gold compound Dirt Webs up front with Ellipses in the rear, while his wheeler used Ellipses on all four corners. Both bugs also used F2 bodies and Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wings. Joining him on the Mod 4wd podium in 2nd and 3rd place were teammates Alex Vanderbeek and David Alberico to complete the JConcepts podium sweep!
JC driver Brandon Kearney reported that he finished 10th in Mod 2wd and 6th for the day in Mod 4wd! His cars ran fast while using the following JC widgets:

Colorado legend Rob Sturghill was in town for this event as well and let us know that he finished 17th overall in 13.5 4wd Buggy, 9th in Mod 4wd Buggy and 6th in 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy! His cars used S2 lightweight bodies, Gold compound Ellipses, Mono wheels and Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Kits.
Team driver, and race director, Alex Sturgeon let us know that he took the win in the 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy class! He used Gold compound Dirt Webs up front with Ellipses in the rear. Joining him on the podium were teammates Mack Vanderbeek (2nd) and Brian Cox (3rd) to complete the JC podium sweep!
His son Emerson also competed in the Mini Truggy class and finished 2nd while running on Gold compound Ellipse tires all the way around!
Next, we shoot down to Garland, TX where Indy RC World is located. Round 2 of the RC Pro North Series was recently held there which saw 181 entries! Let’s get some updates from the team starting with Tyler Hooks. He reported that he raced in three different classes and finished on the podium in all of them!

- Expert 1/8 Nitro Buggy = 2nd place while running on Aqua compound Detox tires and a S2 body
- Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy = 3rd place while running on Aqua compound Detox tires
Joining Tyler on the Expert 1/8 Nitro Truggy podium was teammate Gary Guffey Jr. who said he used Blue compound Triple Dees all weekend. He also competed in the open 1/8 Nitro Buggy class and took the win while running on Aqua compound Detox tires!
JC driver Dillon Caldwell was also competing at this event in the Expert 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes. He would break out in the e buggy main after starting in 4th place and settle for 7th for the day. And in the nitro main he would start and finish 4th for the day! Both buggies ran on Aqua compound Detox tires.
Now let’s fly out west to sunny California for a few updates from the team competing at different events throughout the state.
Starting with the 2021 Golden State Championships at Roadrunners RC in Camarillo, our driver Jesse Granat reported that he finished 2nd overall in the 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy class! He utilized Aqua compound Stalkers and a S15 body during the event.
Also racing at this event was teammate Mike Sorchy. He competed in four different classes and finished 3rd in 17.5 2wd Buggy, 2nd in 13.5 4wd Buggy, grabbed another deuce in the Mod 4wd Buggy class and locked up another 2nd place finish in Mod 2wd Buggy! His cars were hooked up while running on R2 compound Ellipses in the rear and Dirt Webs up front, Mono and 9 Shot wheels, plus S2 and F2 shells.
Heading over to Ricochet R/C Raceway in El Centro we find our driver John Caudillo for this next report. He attended the finals for their Summer Series and after everything was tallied up he would finish 2nd in Mod 2wd Buggy and take the overall title in the Expert Open 4wd Buggy class! For the series his cars were on point while running on Twin Pins in the rear on both, Swaggers up front on his 2wd car and Fuzz Bite tires on he front of his wheeler. Both buggies also used Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wings.
Now let’s get some updates from our international team starting with teammates Clément Boda and Sebastien Mure. They were back in action again competing at the 1/8 French Cup held at ARCF42. This unique event would feature five races that consisted of 14 minutes each.
Only a driver’s best three runs would count and after the races were completed Clément would finish 3rd on the podium! His car was running fast on Aqua compound Stalkers and Blue compound Blockers, along with a Silencer body.
Team driver Jesper Rasmussen repeats as the Danish Champion! He would TQ and win in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes for the 6th and final round of the 2021 Danish Championship. With these two wins this gave him an impressive 16th and 17th national title in his racing career! For the finals he used a P2K body on his 2wd, a S2 body on his 4wd and both vehicles used an Aero wing package.
Our final reports come to us from the O-Town Showdown at Otterville Raceway in Ontario. Team driver Jordan Miles reported that he finished 3rd in 1/8 Electric Buggy and 2nd overall in Mod 4wd Buggy! His wheeler ran on Blue compound Sprinters and a S2 body while his e buggy ran on Blue compound Reflex tires for qualifying, but then he switched over to Green compound Kosmos tires for the main.
Finally, JC teammate Dylan Raposo reported that he would also compete in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class and finish 2nd for the day!
