Two weeks of October racing are now in the books and the JConcepts race team continues to scare off the competition! Read where we were rolling at this past week in this new edition of the Race Team Update!
We start this week’s report down in Yukon, OK where Taylor Park RC Raceway is located. This past weekend they held their Fall Shootout/Street Stock 250 dirt oval event which saw over 100 entries! The JConcepts team was out in full force at this event so let’s see how they finished starting with team driver Robert Chapman. He reported that he finished 3rd in the Outlaw Sprint class and took the win in Midwest Modified! Both cars were equipped with Green compound Dirt Webs in the front and Ellipses in the rear.
Also running at this event was teammate Randy Lathrop. He would set the TQ in the Outlaw Sprint class and go on to take the win, and break the existing track record too! He used the same tire setup as Robert plus 9 Shot wheels. Joining him on the podium were teammates Tyler Keel in 2nd and Robert in 3rd to complete the JC podium sweep!
Speaking of Tyler, he also competed in the Midwest Modified class and finished 2nd overall! He also ran the same winning setup of Green compound Dirt Webs in the front and Ellipses in the rear.
Also turning left at this event was JC driver David Alford. This was only his fourth race of the year thus far and he competed in the Outlaw Sprint class too and finished 3rd in the C Main. He said despite his results he still has a great time and had plenty of traction with the Green compound Dirt Webs in the front and Ellipses in the rear!
Team driver Billy Caldwell also made the C Main in Outlaw Sprint and would cross the finish line first! He opted to use Green compound Ellipses on all four corners along with 9 Shot wheels.
JConcepts driver Kevin Lenderman was also throwing down laps for the team and qualified 8th out of 20 entries for the Street Stock 250 lap race. By the time the race had completed he worked his way up to finish 2nd overall! His car was running fast on Green compound Sprinters in both the front and rear along with Mono wheels.
Finishing just ahead of Kevin in the Street Stock 250 lap race was teammate Quincy Hughes. He not only took the TQ and win in this class but he also finished 4th overall in the Outlaw Sprint class as well! Both cars used Green compound Dirt Webs and Ellipses. Great job team!
Shooting down to Texas we get our next update from team driver Brian Henn. He recently went to Mike’s Gulf Coast RC Raceway in Porter to compete at the 11th and final round of the HARC (Houston Area RC) series. He ran in both the 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes and would go on to finish 4th in e buggy and 3rd in e truggy! His buggy used a S15 body, F2I wing and Green and Blue compound Reflex and Detox tires. His truggy used the same wing along with Green compound Reflex tires.
Also running at the finals was teammate Dillon Caldwell. He started 2nd in the A Main for 1/8 Nitro Buggy and would take the W while running on Blue compound Detox tires!
Our next tour stop is at Loganville, GA where the Loganville RC Complex is located. This past weekend they held the 2nd Annual Georgia Peach State Classic and team driver Shay Brand reports that he competed in three classes and made the podium in all of them!
- 1/8 Pro Nitro Buggy = 2nd with Green compound ReHab tires
- 1/8 Pro Electric Buggy = 3rd with Green compound Reflex tires
- 1/8 Nitro Truggy = TQ & 1st with Green compound Reflex tires
Also racing at this event was JC mate Cade Burnette who competed in the same three classes. In 1/8 Pro Nitro Buggy he got off to a great start but after a mechanical failure he ended up 7th overall while running on Green compound Detox tires, a S15 body and a F2I wing. In 1/8 Pro Electric Buggy he finished a solid 4th place while using Green compound Stalkers, S15 body and a F2I wing. And in the 1/8 Nitro Truggy class he would finish in 2nd place behind Shay while using our Green compound Reflex tires, Finnisher body and a F2I wing!
Now we rock out and head over to Knoxville, TN where ROCCK Racing is located. This past weekend they held their 2021 Knox Vegas Opener which fielded 180 entries! Let’s check in with the team to see how they finished starting with team driver Jonah Wilson.
He competed in three separate classes and came away with wins in two of them!
- 1/8 Pro Nitro Buggy = 1st with Silver compound Ellipse tires
- 1/8 Pro Electric Buggy = 2nd with Silver compound Ellipse tires
- 1/8 Electric Truggy = TQ & 1st with Gold compound Ellipse tires
He was also joined on the 1/8 Pro Nitro Buggy podium by teammate Brad Collins in 2nd!
Also rock n’ rolling at this event was JConcepts driver Bella Rogers. She competed in 1/8 Pro Electric Buggy and just missed out on the podium by finishing a strong 4th place! And in 1/8 Electric Truggy she locked up the final spot on the podium! For the mains she ran Silver compound Ellipse tires as well as a Finnisher body on her truggy and S15 body on her buggy.
Heading up north to New Franken, WI where Dirt Heaven Hobby and Raceway is located let’s get a few updates from the team competing at the opening round of their Fall Points Series. Team driver Richie Peters reports that he took the TQ and win in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class while running on Silver compound Ellipses and Dirt Webs that were sanded to slicks and mounted on Mono wheels!
Teammate Ryan Derenne also competed at this series event in three different classes. In the Mod Stadium Truck class he would finish 3rd while running on Green compound Octagons and a Finnisher body! In the Mod 4wd Buggy class he would finish 3rd for the day while running on Silver compound Ellipses sanded to slicks and topped off with a S2 shell! And in the 40+ Super Stock 2wd Buggy class he would take the TQ and win while running Silver compound Ellipses sanded to slicks and a P2 body!
Next, we head down to Fort Dodge, IA for the finals of IORC’s Summer Series. Team driver Brandon Kearney reports that he finished 1st overall in points in the 17.5 Expert 2wd, Mod 2wd and Mod 4wd Buggy classes! For the series he used a ton of JC swag:

- Mono wheels
- B6.3 Front Wing
Our next report comes from team driver Alex Sturgeon who probably competed in the longest main event for the team this week. Over in Omaha, NE where the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) is located they held their HobbyPlex 1000 Off-Road Enduro. This race was comprised of teams of 3-4 drivers and one member of the team must marshal at all times. Each member was also required to drive for a minimum of one hour and the radio could only be exchanged between team members in a designated area. After the dust had settled the winning team of Alex, Emerson Sturgeon and Garrett Paul completed the entire 8.5 hour race on one set of Gold compound Ellipses!
Finally, let’s get a quick update from out international team. Team driver Clément Boda competed in the latest round of the 1/10 French Championship and he finished 2nd in Mod 2wd Buggy and took the TQ and win in Mod 4wd Buggy! His fast rides used the following gear:
