In this Product Spotlight we take a closer look at some recent metal car stands that were released for 1/10 and 1/8 vehicles.
First, let’s go over the JConcepts branded Metal Car Stands.
These stands are available in either blue or black color options, and each variation is formed from all-aluminum materials. The top deck has holes pre-cut out so you use them to service your shocks.
Laser etched logos have been added to each side for brand authenticity.
A matching foam sheet with pre-cut holes is also included so you can apply it to the top deck to help keep your car in place when wrenching on it. Also included are foam pads for the legs to help lock it into place on your pit table. Installing these foam pieces is required so let’s go over that process next.
“Punch out” the circle cut-outs in the larger foam piece.
Then make sure to match up the pattern to holes on the top of the stand.
Peel off the yellow backing to reveal the adhesive side then gently set it into place.
For the legs repeat this same process until all four are complete.
We also released a RM2 version of these stands called the RM2 Metal Car Stand. This stand uses the familiar red anodizing that is a key component to the growing RM2 (Ryan Maifield Momentum) product line. Just like the JConcepts branded Metal Car Stands, this RM2 variant also is compatible with 1/10 and 1/8 vehicles and crafted from all-aluminum materials.
Laser etched logos have been added to each side for RM2 brand authenticity along with an inspirational quote from the two time IFMAR World Champ.
The top deck also has pre-cut holes too. The RM2 Metal Car Stand also includes a foam sheet that can be applied to the top of the deck with matching hole cut-outs, plus foam pads to add to each leg of the stand.
Again, by adding these foams pieces this will help to keep your vehicle in place on top of it while it stands strong on your pit table.
Like I said earlier the holes on top are the perfect way to store your shocks when you need to perform some maintenance on them.
You can also use the holes on top of these stands to service your diff, store tools or whatever your imagination comes up with.
When compared to most of our lexan car stands, these metal stands are much taller so a variety of vehicles can be used on them without the wheels touching the ground.
The Illuzion Black Matte Vehicle Stand is comparable in size, but if you are running your vehicle outside one strong gust of wind might mean that you might have to chase that lexan stand down the street!
Even though these stands might be heavier than a lexan stand, they are still very lightweight and only weigh 9.63oz (~273g).
And they will work with many different shapes and sizes of 1/10 and 1/8 vehicles.
