Friday5 With Team Driver Bryce Beaver

In this edition of the JConcepts Friday5 we talk to California team driver, Bryce Beaver!

1. How did you get started in RC? Was it racing right away, or did you bash vehicles before you found out about the RC race scene?

I started off in 1992 racing off-road 1/10 cars at the local track and that is where it all began.

2. Which type of racing format do you prefer and why. A trophy race that runs over a weekend or a single day event with multiple rounds in a points series?

I enjoy all formats of racing. I like traveling to events and meeting new racers and new venues. The best thing is hanging out with my son (Collin) at the track. That is father son time I will never get back. I’m more nervous watching him race than when I’m racing LOL.

3. When life interferes with your racing program, how do you quench your thirst for RC? Do you work on your car, listen to a RC podcast, watch some racing videos, read RC magazines or books, etc?

I like the wrenching aspect of the hobby. It’s a hard work life balance. I listen to music, podcasts or have the TV on for background noise.

4. Which JConcepts product, in your opinion, is a must-have on race day when going to the track and why?

The JConcepts product that is a must have for me is the S15 body and Reflex tire. The S15 body gives the car the styling and the forward cab bias to help the car. The Reflex tire is amazing with forward drive and helps the rotation of the car. Hands down the go to tire.

5. You are obviously highly skilled when it comes to RC cars, but what is one skill or hidden talent that folks might be surprised to find out about you?

My hidden skill or talent is that I’m a awesome dad!
