Race Team Update – April 2026 Week #4

The JConcepts race team finishes the last weekend of April with more wins on tracks around the globe. Read about our winning ways in this week’s edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report up in the Northeast at RC Madness in Enfield, CT. This past weekend Round 3 of the R/C Monster Truck Challenge took place there so let’s see how the team finished up starting with team driver Scott Welch. He reported that he qualified 4th out of 37 Retro entries and made it to the round of 8 with all of his trucks! In the ProMod class he would finish 9th overall out of 76 entries too!

Team driver Ethan Saunders was also in attendance and in the ProMod class he won the B-side qualifier bracket and TQ tiebreaker with my his LMT Grave Digger ride! In the elimination round he would finish 1st and 3rd overall! His tire teammate Chris Ciriello would finish in 2nd, and in the Retro class he would take the win with his new REACTOR kit!

Moving down the coastline we now visit Insanity Raceway in Boonton, NJ.

Last weekend was their Roostpalooza trophy event and JC driver Mark Baldwin would finish 5th in 17.5 2wd Buggy along with a 3rd place finish in 17.5 Stadium Truck!

Heading further south we now stop in at Callahan Speedway in Callahan, FL.

This track was host to the most recent round of the FRCC (Florida RC Championship) 1:10 Series, and team driver Tyler Scofield was ready to roll as he finished the day with two 5th place finishes in 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy, along with a 2nd place finish in the Mini Truggy class!

Angling our way up to Arkansas we now visit GS Hobby in Barling. Last weekend this carpet off-road track held their annual Judge trophy race, and team driver Peyton Jaynes was dropping verdicts on the competition as he finished 3rd overall in both the Mod and 17.5 2wd Buggy classes!

Also banging the gavel at this event was his teammate Braden Bruce who grabbed the TQs and wins in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes!

Crossing the state line we now head to Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs, MO. Last weekend they held their 2nd Annual Matt Burger Memorial trophy race, and team driver Jeremy Cathlina was on point that day as he took the triple TQ and W in the 13.5 and Open Sprint classes along with Open Late Model!

Heading up I-35 we now stop in at Traction City RC in Webster City, IA. Last weekend was their final round of their points series, and after the season points were tallied up team driver David Peavler would take home 1st place in both the Expert 17.5 2wd and Mod 4wd Buggy classes! His son Jayme would finish 2nd in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy and 1st overall in the Independent 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

Next, we head up to Dakota RC in Jamestown, ND for our next report.

Last weekend was the opening round of their Summer Series, and team driver Marco Moreno would finish this opener with a 6th place finish in 1/8 Electric Truggy, 4th place in 1/8 Electric Buggy, and 2nd overall in the Mini Truggy class!

Heading back to the west we now visit Trackside Hobbies & Raceway in Brookfield, WI. Last weekend was their Chicken Wing Classic, and JC driver Tyler Aubart would take the TQ and W in the 13.5 Stadium Truck class!

His teammate Kyle Swanson was also at this event and he would finish in the lower mains for 17.5 2wd Buggy, and just miss out on the transfer spot to the A Main in the Short Course Truck class!

Back to Tyler again, he also completed in the Saturday Night Fever points series at Trackside over the Winter months. When the points were added up he would finish 5th in 13.5 4wd Buggy and 2nd place in Mod 2wd Buggy!

Heading south we make our way to the ‘Land of Lincoln’ to get this quick update from team driver Chris Parrish. This past Sunday was the kickoff to the new racing season for OffTrack R/C. This event took place at Dream Fields Coliseum in Waterloo, and in the Retro Clod class his Equalizer truck took TQ honors in the first racing bracket of the season and marched to victory in the Finals after defeating the team truck Bear Foot Racer in the Semi Finals!

In the second racing bracket his Equalizer came in as the 3rd qualifier and made it to the Semi Finals which with two strong performances it meant his Equalizer was the overall class victor for Event 1!

In the Sport Mod class his Equalizer rig qualified in 2nd and rolled to the final round before losing out to TQ!

In the second racing bracket for Sport Mod his Equalizer replica captured the TQ position and fought to the Final round for the win, plus secured the Overall class victory for Event 1 with number 1 and number 2 in qualifying and a 1st place and 2nd place finish in each bracket!

Over in the Pro Mod class his Indominus monster truck came in at number 3 in qualifying, and finished the bracket with a semifinal round appearance before losing to the bracket winner number two qualifier Magnum!

In the second pro bracket, defending class champion Bossfight overcame a modest top 1/3rd qualifying effort to fight its way to the finals to defeat number 2 Magnum from the number 12 position in a fist fight to the finish!

Finally, in the Freestyle class his Venom truck was debuted and brought home third place!

Bouncing over to the ‘Hoosier’ state let’s get our next update from JConcepts driver Wyatt Gaskins. He let us know that he recently went to MPRC (Muncie Performance RC) Raceway & Hobby Shop in Muncie for their Spring Points Series where he finished 1st overall in both the 17.5 2wd and Rear Motor Vintage Buggy classes!

On to Ohio we now stop in at TARCAR in Toledo. Last weekend was their season opener, and team driver Michael Rinke would finish 3rd in 1/8 Nitro Buggy, and he was joined on the podium by his teammate Tony Sosnowicz in 2nd! Tony would also grab a 6th place finish in 1/8 Electric Buggy too!

Our final reports this week comes to us courtesy of our Australian race team. This past weekend Round 1 of the Victorian Drivers series (Keilor Polistena Cup) was held at outside of Melbourne. The team excelled at this event as our drivers took home a handful of hardware!
