One month is in the books for 2022 and it looks like there is no stopping the JConcepts crew! Read about our winning ways in another fresh edition of the Race Team Update!
We start this week’s report over in Easton, PA where Trains and Lanes Hobbies is located. Recently team drivers Aydan and Dylan Manchanda made their JConcepts team debut at this facility to race on the carpet track surface. They both ran Swaggers up front, Nessi tires in the rear and they made a big splash as they podiumed in all of their classes including a couple of TQs and a win!
- Mod 2wd Buggy – Dylan Manchanda 2nd place
- Stadium Truck – Dylan Manchanda 2nd place
- 17.5 2wd Buggy – Dylan Manchanda 2nd place
- Mod 4wd Buggy – Aydan Manchanda TQ and 2nd place
- 13.5 4wd Buggy – Aydan Manchanda TQ and 1st place
We stay in state to get our next update from team driver Matt Morris. He went to Shaffer’s Full Steam Ahead Hobby Shop in Altoona for their recent Dash For Cash race event to complete in the Mod and 17.5 2wd Buggy classes. He would finish 2nd in both while running fast laps on Fuzz Bite tires!
Now we move south into Maryland to visit The Track in Gaithersburg for our next team update. This past weekend they hosted the ROAR Region 2 Championships so let’s see how the team finished starting with team driver Chris Fokianos. He competed in both the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes and would finish in 2nd place in both of them! He said he ran Silver compound Smoothie 2 tires on his wheeler while his 2wd buggy used sanded down Silver compound Ellipse tires.
Also throwing down laps at this race was teammate Enzo Albertoni in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes. He would go on to double down in both classes with a TQ and win in each! His winning rides used the following products:
- Mod 2wd Buggy = Silver compound Smoothie 2 tires, a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing, F2 body
- Mod 4wd Buggy = Silver compound Smoothie 2 tires and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 6.5″ Rear Wing
Staying in Maryland we get our next update from team driver Charles Buckland. This past weekend he went to Key City Hobby in the city of Frederick to compete in their King of the Hammers 5 Hour Endurance Crawl event. After the event had concluded his team would finish 2nd overall while rolling on Tusk Performance 1.9″ Scaler tires and Hazard 1.9″ Aluminum Beadlock Wheels!
Continuing down to east coast our next stop is at World of RC in Lucama, NC. Team driver Josh Parrish attended the ROS Series finale that they recently hosted and he competed in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class.
He would go on to take the TQ and win while running Green compound Octagons, Mono wheels and a P2 body!
Heading over to Georgia we meet up with JC driver Cade Burnette who was in the city of Barnesville to compete at The Barn RC Raceway.
He would run in the Pro 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes and take the double TQ and win while running fast on Green compound Reflex tires, S15 shells and F2I wings!
Now we shoot over to Arlington, TX where GoldStar Hobbies and Raceway is located. Our driver Andrew Clark visited this facility for some club racing and finished 2nd in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy and also took the TQ and win in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class! He said his cars were money thanks to Fuzz Bite tires on all four corners.
Now we bounce up north to the Hoosier RC Hobbyplex in New Albany, IN. There we find team driver Nick Reppen who competed there last weekend in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes. In 17.5 he qualified and finished 3rd overall and in 13.5 he would lay down the TQ and take the W in the main! He used Silver compound Ellipses, RM2 foam inserts, Mono wheels and F2 bodies.
Staying in Indiana let’s now roll over to Turf Burners RC Raceway in Indianapolis for our next team update. JC driver Justin Green recently competed there with a fresh build for the 13.5 4wd Buggy class. He would take the win that day while running on Fuzz Bite tires glued to Mono wheels along with a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing.
Now let’s head to New Franken, WI where Dirt Heaven Hobby and Raceway is located. JConcepts driver Ryan Derenne attended the recent Winter Series race held there to compete in three different classes. In the Mod 4wd Buggy class he would just miss out making the transfer to the A Main while running on Silver compound Ellipses and a F2 body. In the Mod Stadium Truck class he would finish 5th for the day while using a Finnisher shell and Silver compound Ellipses! And in the 40+ Super Stock 2wd Buggy class he would lock up the final spot on the podium while using the same tire setup plus a P2 body!
Crossing the border into Minnesota we head to Thunder Road Raceway in the town of Waite Park. They held a points race over the weekend and team driver Thor Ott competed in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class. He would finish 2nd for the day while running Fuzz Bites tires and a S2 body! Joining him on the podium in 3rd place was teammate Kyle Holmberg!
Heading south into Iowa we visit the city Muscatine where Island Speedway is located. They recently held another round of their points series and team driver David Peavler competed on their carpet track in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes. At this track the local racers prefer to run foam tires, but Dave strapped on some JC rubber to compete with instead. He ran Fuzz Bites all the way around on his 2wd, and Swaggers in the front and Fuzz Bites in the rear on his wheeler. All tires were glued to Mono wheels and at the end of the day he would walk away with wins in both classes!
Now we fly out west to sunny California for some updates from the team competing at the 7th Annual Ice Breaker event held at LSR Speedway in Sacramento which saw over 200 entries! Starting with team driver Lucas Wedsted he reported that he competed in both the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy and Stadium Truck classes. He would double up with two wins in both classes along with a TQ in buggy! Both rides used Silver compound Ellipses with Dirt-Tech foam inserts. His buggy used a F2 body while his truck used a Finnisher body, and his buggy also used a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing.
JC mate Rob Moots also competed at this race in the 40+ Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy and Mod 2wd SCT classes. In the 40+ class he would finish 6th overall while running a F2 body, Mono wheels, Silver compound Ellipse tires and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing! In the Mod 2wd SCT class he would take the TQ and win while running the same tire setup!
Now let’s get a few updates from our international team starting with team driver Clément Boda. Last weekend he competed at the final round of the EOS with his new SWORKz cars and finished 19th for the day in 4wd and 7th in 2wd! When the season points were added up he would finish 7th overall in 2wd and at the finals he used F2 and S2 bodies on both cars.
Our final report comes to us courtesy of Australian driver Jarod Ment. He recently attended the Hills Off Road RC club in Castle Hill, NSW for some club racing. He would finish 3rd in 4wd and 2nd in 2wd while running the following JC goodies!
