From coast to coast the JConcepts race team continues to win the most which you can about in this new installment of the JConcepts Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report out east at Maximus RC Raceway in York, ME. Team driver John Cravotta recently competed at the finals for their point series and after all the points were added up he would take home the title in the Mod 2wd Buggy class while running fast on Fuzz Bite tires!

Now let’s head over to Pennsylvania to get a few updates from the team competing at various tracks. Our first stop is at LCRC Raceway in Oakland Mills. This past weekend they held their 20th annual Race Against Cancer event that saw 397 entries! Team driver Tom Petrella competed in the Expert and 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy classes. In Expert he would finish 28th our of 63 entries, and in the 40+ class he would lock up 6th place! Earlier in the day he ran on Green compound ReHabs before switching to A2 compound Detox tires for the mains, plus a S15 shell and Bullet wheels.

Also racing for the team at this event was JC driver Dylan Manchanda in the Expert 1/8 Nitro Buggy class. Some earlier mechanical issues in qualifying meant he had to win both the D and C Mains to bump into the B main where he finished 9th overall! He started the D Main on Black compound Reflex tires before switching to the Green compound for the C Main, and finally the Blue compound for the B Main. All three variations of the tire were glued to Bullet rims.

JConcepts driver Aydan Manchanda competed in Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy class and qualified 7th and wrapped up the event in 10th place! For his A Main he opted to used Blue compound Reflex tires glued to Bullet wheels.

Team driver Matt Adams competed in five different classes at this race and put in solid results in all of them!

  • Mod 2wd SCT = 1st place while racing with a Hi-Flow body, a Black Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Set, Green compound Sprinters and Hazard wheels
  • Mod 2wd Buggy = 3rd place while racing with a F2 body, a Black Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Set, Green compound Double Dees v2 tires on Mono wheels

Staying in the state let’s pivot over to FSARC Raceway in Altoona for our next update. Team driver Matt Morris visited this track over the weekend to compete in their 2nd Annual Rumble At The Railyard trophy race in the Mod 4wd and 17.5 2wd Buggy classes. In the 17.5 class he would qualify 2nd overall, but unfortunately would break in the main to finish in 7th place. In the Mod wheeler class he set the TQ and would go on to take the W!

Now, let’s head down the coast and make our way to Thunder Alley RC Speedway in Lucama, NC. Team driver Luis Diego recently raced there for Round 6 of their Super Seven Series and would take the TQ and win in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class while using Blue compound Triple Dees!

He would just miss out on the podium in the e buggy class but took the win in nitro buggy! Both vehicles were equipped with our Blue compound Triple Dees.

Calvin competed in both 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes and took the W in the buggy class plus a TQ and another W in truggy! His buggy utilized Blue compound Triple Dees and Teazers while his truggy was running fast on Blue compound Reflex tires up front with Triple Dees in the rear.

Making another diagonal we now head over to Yukon, OK where Taylor Park Raceway is located. Recently team driver Tyler Keel competed in Outlaw Sprint for Round 10 of their points series, and he came away with the win while using Green compound Dirt Webs up front and Ellipses in the rear!

He also used Dirt-Tech inserts and all three drivers on the podium used the same tire combination!

Staying up north let’s leap lake Michigan and splash down at Rick’s Hobby Farm in New Richmond, WI. The finals for the MNRC Series was held there and team driver Joe Scaramell finished 3rd for the day in the 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy class and also took home 2nd place for this class in the series! For the finals he used Green compound Reflex tires in qualifying before switching over to the Blue compound for the main.

Also competing at the finals was his JC mate Kyle Holmberg. He would set the TQ in both the 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes and finished the day 2nd overall in nitro and 1st in electric! When the season points were tallied up he took home the titles in both of those classes too!
