Race Team Update – February 2023 Week #1

One month of racing is now in the books for 2023 and it looks like there is no slowing down the JConcepts race team! To see where we were winning at this past week, please take a look at this latest edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report way out west in Walla Walla, WA. This city was where Round 3 of the Northwest Rage Tour took place, and this recent round brought in 260 entries! So let’s see how the team finished up starting with team driver Robert Sorjonen. He competed in four separate classes, and after the dust had settled he finished 4th in 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy, plus 1st place in Gas Truck, 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy and Mod 4wd Buggy! He also snagged two TQ awards for the e buggy and truck classes too!

Also competing at this round was fellow JConcepts driver Brian Phillips in two classes. In 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy he finished a solid 7th overall, and in the Mod 4wd Buggy class he finished in 4th place!

Team driver Shane Preugschat competed in the 1/8 Nitro Truggy class and finished in 5th place!

JConcepts driver Bryce Beaver also raced in the 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy class and finished 2nd overall! Joining him on the podium were fellow JC drivers Robert (4th) and Jeff Keeton (5th)!

Moving south into California let’s stop in at LSR Speedway in the city of Sacramento. This past weekend they held their 9th Annual Ice Breaker event which netted 232 entries! Team driver Joseph Levin competed in both the Expert 13.5 4wd and 17.5 2wd Buggy classes and locked up 2nd place in both of them!

Also racing for the team at this race was team driver Jay Wedsted in the Intermediate 17.5 2wd Buggy class. He set the TQ and then raced on to take the win!

JC driver Chris MacGregor competed in three classes at this trophy race. He would finish 15th in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class, 7th in Intermediate 17.5 2wd Buggy, plus 8th place in Expert 13.5 Short Course Truck!

JConcepts driver Rob Moots competed in the 40+ 17.5 2wd Buggy and Expert 13.5 Short Course Truck classes. In the 17.5 class he would finish 10th overall and in short course he locked up 5th place!

Now we shoot over to Texas to get our next report from team driver Billy DiCorte Jr. He recently competed at Speegleville Speedway which is right outside of the city of Waco for some dirt oval action.

He competed in the Street Stock class and would start on the pole and then go on to take the feature main win!

Heading north let’s check in with the team competing at Round 3 of the Carpet Wars held at RC Pitstop & Raceway in Newton, KS which saw 111 entries! Starting with team driver Ken Peterson he let us know that finished 3rd in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy and took the win in the Mod 2wd Buggy class!

His tire teammate Mason Herrick would set the TQ and take the win in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class too!

Crossing the stateline we head into Missouri to see how the team performed at a recent Childress RC Racing event held at K-C Hall in the city of Sullivan. Starting with team driver Jeremy Mark he reported that in the Retro class his replica Buffalo Tremor 2 made the finals for bracket 2, plus won the finals for Bracket 3! His Taurus 2 replica also made the finals of racing bracket 3, losing to himself! In the Sport Modified class his replica Sudden Impact rig won racing bracket 1, plus his Taurus 3 ride won racing bracket 3! In the Pro Modified class his Taurus and Sudden Impact trucks met in the finals of racing bracket 3 with the Taurus truck taking the win!

Also crushing it at this event was his teammate Chris Parrish. In the Retro class his replica Vile Red Falcon defeated his Bearfoot Racer truck as they met in the finals for bracket 1! In Retro bracket 2 his Bearfoot Racer truck won in the finals! In the Pro Mod bracket 2 his Equalizer 3 replica was able to take the victory in the finals!

Moving up to Michigan let’s stop in at Limitless R/C in the city of Davison for this quick update from team driver Evan Ciresi.

He competed in two classes at their 4th round of their Friday Night Points Series and he finished 6th in 13.5 4wd Buggy and 2nd overall in the 13.5 Stadium Truck class!

Now we rock out and head down to ROCCK Racing in Knoxville, TN to get this next update from JC driver Jonah Wilson. He recently raced there for Round 3 of the ETRC (East Tennessee RC) Series and would set the TQ and take the win in the Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy class! Joining him on the podium was his tire teammate Coty Ingram in 3rd place!

Heading east towards the coastline let’s get our next update from team driver Josh Parrish. This past weekend he went to Thunder Alley RC Speedway in Lucama, NC to compete in Round 3 of their Super 7 Series. He raced in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class and after starting 2nd in the A Main he would go on to take the win!

Heading down to Georgia we visit Lil Cochran Speedway & Hobbies in the city of Cochran. Team driver Grant Ryals recently competed there for their Speedweeks dirt oval event that brought in 267 entries!

He competed in the Mod Latemodel and Sprint classes and would double-down in both with two TQs and wins!

Moving south into Florida we stop in at the city of Apopka where Dean’s All Out RC is located out. This past weekend was “Judgement Day” in their Purge Series and team driver Erik Everett let us know that he locked up the final spot on the podium in the Open 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

Now let’s get some updates from our international team starting with team driver Alberto Garcia. He recently competed at a warm up race held at Antas RC Circuit for the upcoming Spain 1/8 Fuel Off-Road Nationals in March. He got off to a rough start in the 45 minute A Main, but he was able to get back on pace again and finish 13th overall while testing out many things in preparation for the nats next month!

Heading down under we get our next update from Australian driver Jarod Ment. He recently competed in a club race held at Hills Off-Road in Sydney, and he finished 3rd in Mod 4wd Buggy and took the W in the Mod 2wd Buggy class!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Clément Boda. This past weekend he competed at Round 3 of the EOS (Euro Off-Road Series) held in Daun, Germany. For the finals he would finish 14th in Mod 2wd and 9th in Mod 4wd Buggy, and when the series points were tallied up he finished 8th overall in Mod wheeler!
