In this edition of the JConcepts Friday5 we talk to Florida team driver, Trent Walker!
1. When you first got into RC racing, what pro driver did you look up to and why? Or maybe there was a local/regional driver that you followed?
When I first got into RC racing I always looked up to the guys that were around willing to help get my program on point, guys like Tony Pattishall, Kawri Brown and also my father for putting in a lot of effort to be able to get to the track and race!
2. What class do you prefer to compete in today, and why?
Nitro buggy is my preferred class because of the longer mains, and the focus and patience it requires to be on top for a long period of time as well as the mechanical aspect of keeping the car together for a long run.
3. From your experience what is the easiest AND hardest maintenance task on your RC cars?
I think the easiest part of maintenance is just a regular cleaning job to help prevent rust especially on calcium tracks. The hardest however I would say is shocks because they require the most efficient build to be perfect.
4. JConcepts is well known for its tires and bodies, but in your opinion what tool or accessory is a must have on race day that other drivers might overlook?
In my opinion, the rubber parts tray is really convenient to have to help separate everything on your car especially when you’re in a long build process or even just regular maintenance routine. Also the JConcepts tire sticks are a must have to keep you’re tire program organized for both 1/10th and 1/8th!
5. Name one thing people might be surprised to know about you.
One thing most probably don’t know about me is that I have also indulged in some other hobbies including skateboarding for some years now and also motocross!
