6 Wins For JConcepts At Round 3 Of The JBRL 1/10 Series + Tire Guide

Last weekend Round 3 of the JBRL (Jimmy Babcock Racing League) 1/10 Series made its way to Rain-Man’s Hobby and Raceway in Bakersfield, CA.

These series events always bring out the best RC competition in Southern California, and this most recent round was no exception as it saw 182 entries spread out over 12 classes.

Just before noon on Friday the track was open for controlled practice as drivers tried to find the fastest way around the new layout.

On Saturday morning the doors opened again for more practice, and then the first round of qualifying started shortly after 10:30am.

The race format called for two rounds of qualifying, and each qualifier was five minutes long. Only a driver’s best qualifying round would be used for qualifying into the single A Mains.

The top eight drivers were locked into the A Main based on their qualifying results, and spots 9 and 10 would bump up from the next lowest main. Each A Main ran for six minutes each so let’s see how the team finished up starting with the premiere class, Mod 2wd Buggy.

Team driver Broc Champlin would TQ both rounds of qualifying which included the only 20 lap run of the weekend! In the A Main he would lead for two laps before his tire teammate Davey Batta took over the lead on lap three. Broc would continue to pursue him in 2nd place before taking over the lead for good on lap 20!
