Race Team Update – June 2023 Week #1

The first weekend in June was a busy one for the JConcepts race team as they continue to compete at different events. Read all about our continued success in this week’s Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report down at Thompson RC Raceway in Justin, TX. This past weekend they held their 5th annual WFO For Wilcox event that brought out nearly 260 entries! Let’s see how the team finished up starting with JConcepts driver Jordan Hefler

He competed in five classes at this race and grabbed the top qualifier spot in two of them!

  • Street Stock = TQ and 1st
  • Latemodel – 1st
  • SC Mod = 1st
  • Wingless Sprint – 1st
  • Midwest Mod = TQ and 2nd

With this effort he earns our coveted ‘ironman’ award for the week too!

JC driver Kevin Mcnatt also competed in the SC Mod class and was the fastest driver in qualifying! Unfortunately he would break out in the main to finish with a DNF, but up to that point his car was running fast!

Team driver Billy DiCorte Jr. signed up for three classes at this race. He would finish 7th overall in the 10.5 Sprint class, 5th in the 13.5 Street Stock class and 5th in Midwest Mod!

Fellow tire teammate Tyler Keel raced in the Open Sprint class where he finished 2nd overall!

Team driver Kevin Lenderman raced in the Wingless Sprint and SC Mod classes. In the wingless class he would finish in 4th place, while in SC Mod he grabbed the 2nd spot on the podium!

Crossing the stateline into the “Land of Lincoln” let’s see how the team finished up at the Round 3 of the Trigger King RC Summer Series event held at the Dream Fields Raceway in Waterloo. Team driver Jeremy Mark competed in the Retro, Sport Modified, and Pro Modified classes for this recent round. He reports that he was able to TQ three of the six racing brackets (one in each class), and he also reached the semi-finals or further in all six brackets with three final round appearances!

Also crushing the competition at this recent round was teammate Chris Parrish in three classes. In the Retro class his replica Bearfoot started with the second fastest qualifier and made it to the finals in Bracket 1! In Retro Bracket 2 his Master of Disaster truck was the TQ, but Bearfoot won the bracket! With those two strong finishes Bearfoot also grabbed the overall Event Championship! In SportMod Bracket 1 his Equalizer monster truck ripped to the TQ spot, but it was his Bearfoot Racer ride that made it to the Semi Finals. In Bracket 2, Bearfoot Racer was in the 2nd fastest qualifier and rode to the finals to face JConcepts teammate Jeremy Mark and his Taurus 3 replica rig with Bearfoot Racer taking the victory! After the points were calculated this lead to a race off and a rematch for the overall class championship for the event between the same trucks with the trucks lining up in the same lanes, and Bearfoot Racer once again took the victory and the class overall for the day!
