Race Team Update – July 2023 Week #2

Like fireworks on the 4th of July, the JConcepts race team continues to shoot their way to the top of the podium on tracks around the globe! Read about our winning ways in this new edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report out east at the Tiltyard in Dayton, VA. This past weekend they were the host of Round 2 of the VCS (Virginia Off-road Championship Series). Team drivers Brian and Layton Miskolczi competed in this event, and at the end of the day Brian would start 6th in the A Main for Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy, but finish 11th overall after a DNF, and his son Layton finished in 3rd place in the Intermediate 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

Team driver Rusty Mihelich competed in both the Pro 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes. In the nitro A Main he was running as high as 2nd place before a mechanical failure ended his run early. But, he would bounce back in the e buggy main as he finished in 2nd place!

His daughter Maddy Long finished right behind him in the e buggy main, and she also finished 4th in the Pro 1/8 Electric Truggy class, plus another a 2nd place finish in Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy!

Crossing the stateline let’s get our next update from team driver Bella Rogers. This past weekend she went to ACCEL RC in Gay, WV since they hosted a Regional Off-Road Championship event.

She competed in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy class and locked up the final podium spot!

Next, we make a diagonal up to M-40 RC Raceway in Gobles, MI. There we find team driver Kyle Munson who recently raced there for Round 4 of their points series which saw 147 entries!

He signed up for the Pro4 SCT and 1/8 Electric Buggy classes, and he would go on to set the TQ in buggy plus took wins in both classes!

Whipping it over Wisconsin we touch down in Minnesota to catch up with JConcepts driver Joe Scaramell. This past weekend he raced at the Lake Superior RC Club in the town of Proctor for the 29th Annual Minnesota Off-Road State Championships. He raced in both the 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes, and when the event had wrapped up he would finish 7th in e buggy and locked up 2nd place in nitro buggy after a 30 minute A main!

Sending it south our next tour stop is at ELDO RC in El Dorado, AR. Team driver William Ables competed there this past weekend at this newer track hosted Round 2 of the RC Pro Series. He would set the TQ in both rounds of qualifying in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class, and then due to a rain out this would also give him the win!

Moving over to Oklahoma we head to the town of Yukon where Taylor Park RC Raceway is located at. Team driver Tyler Keel recently competed there for Round 4 of their point series, and he would set the TQ and take the win by over a lap in the Outlaw Sprint class!

Shooting down to Texas let’s check in with JC driver Brian Henn who recently competed at Round 1 of the HARC (Houston Area RC) Summer Series at Mike’s Gulf Coast Raceway in Porter. He raced in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes, set the TQ in truggy, and then after the AA mains were ran for both classes he would collect two Ws!

Flying out east let’s catch up with team driver Johnathan Schultz who just wrapped up competing at the JConcepts Spring Oval Nationals hosted by Auburn RC in Auburn, CA.

He ran in the SC Mod class and would set the TQ and go on to take home the win! Joining him on the podium was fellow JC teammate John Schultz!

Now let’s get some updates from our international team starting with team driver Alex Bernadzik. He recently competed in Round 2 of the Asian Buggy Championships held at PHDR in Brisbane, Queensland down in Australia, and he would double down with a TQ and win in both the 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes!

His tire teammate Ben Panic competed in the 45+ 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes along with the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class. He would grab TQs in the 45+ 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes, and then race on to finish 8th in nitro buggy, 6th place in 45+ e buggy and 2nd overall in 45+ nitro buggy!

JC driver Aaron Dexter also signed up for the 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes, and he would finish 5th in e buggy and 4th in nitro buggy!

Team driver Jordan Isergin competed at another event down in Australia. This past weekend he traveled to Batemans Bay for Round 4 of the NSW/ACT 1/8 Off-road Series. He competed in three classes at this event and would finish this round with a TQ and win in all of them!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Daemon Holon. He recently competed in Round 3 of the Quebec RC Series, and he would finish 2nd in the 1/8 Nitro Truggy and Buggy classes, plus a TQ and win in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class!
