Race Team Update – October 2023 Week #1

A new month begins, but it is the same old story for JConcepts as wins continue to fall for the race team! Read about our latest podiums in this new edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report out in sunny California for Round 5 of the Nor Cal RC Monster Trucks Points Series held at the Rescue Community Center RC Track in the city of Rescue.

Team driver Jeremy Bunting competed in this most recent round, and after the season points were tallied up he took home 3rd place in the 2.2 Class with his “Crash Test Dummy” truck, plus 1st overall with his “Bad Company” truck!

Shooting over to Texas let’s see how the team performed at Round 4 of the RC Pro Series held at Oatesified Off-Road RC Raceway in San Antonio.

Starting with team driver Billy DiCorte Jr. he reports that finished 4th in Open 1/8 Electric Buggy, 2nd in Open 1/8 Nitro Buggy and took the win in the Expert 1/8 Electric Truggy class!

His tire teammate Todd Geary competed in the Open 1/8 Nitro Buggy and Expert 1/8 Nitro Truggy classes for this round. He would set the TQ in nitro buggy but unfortunately dropped out with a DNF, while in the nitro truggy class he finished 2nd overall!

Moving up north let’s now head to Taylor Park RC Raceway in Yukon, OK to see how the team finished up at their recent Fall Shootout and Street Stock 250 dirt oval event. The event included a special Street Stock class where every car has to run 250 laps with at least one battery change under green flag conditions! Starting with JC driver Tyler Keel he let us know that he finished 7th overall in Open Sprint and 2nd in the Street Stock 250!

His JConcepts teammate Jordan Hefler took the win in the Street Stock 250 race, and he also competed in Wingless Sprint, Midwest Mod and SC Mod. He would TQ and win in all of them, plus his earns our coveted “ironman award” this week for competing in four classes at one event!

JConcepts driver Robert Chapman picked up the wins in the Open Sprint and Latemodel classes too!

Moving into Missouri let’s now head to Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs for our next report. Team driver Jeremy Cathlina recently wrapped up competing in their dirt oval series, and after the points were tallied up he would take the crown for both the Mod Sprint and Latemodel classes, plus some cold, hard cash!

Next, let’s move even more north into Iowa to see how the team finished up at a few different events. Starting with team driver Cody Meiferdt this past weekend he attended the Summer Point Series finals at Island Speedway in Muscatine to prepare for the NCTS5 finale that will take place there next weekend. He competed in the Stadium Truck and 17.5 2wd Buggy classes and would set the TQ in truck and take the win in both!

Heading west down I-80 we now catch up with team driver David Fast who raced at Send It R.C. Speedway at the Dallas County Fairgrounds in Adel for their Halloween Spooktacular dirt oval event. He competed in two classes and finished 4th in Latemodel and 3rd place in the 410 Sprint class!

Crossing the Mississippi River we now head into Illinois to see how the team finished up at the recent Trigger King RC summer series finale held at Dream Fields Raceway in Waterloo. Starting with team driver Jeremy Mark his Buffalo Tremor II replica had a strong showing in the Retro class finishing 2nd overall for the day and 3rd place in the season points! In Sport Modified his Taurus 3 replica rig also performed well in the clutch, qualifying 2nd and making the finals in bracket 2 en route to a tie for 3rd place that day, and 2nd place for the season points! In the Pro Modified class his Sudden Impact mini monster also had a solid outing, and after calculating the points he held onto 3rd place for the season points!

JC driver Chris Parrish also competed at the finals in three different classes. In the Retro class his “Master of Disaster” was the number two qualifier and went to the finals in bracket 2! In bracket 1 for Sport Modified his Bear Foot Racer made it to the finals too! In the Pro Modified class his Equalizer replica went to the finals in bracket 1, and also made it to the semi finals in bracket 2! Once the season points were collected he would finish with top five finishes in three racing classes!

  • Retro = 2nd place with Bearfoot Racer, 4th place with Master of Disaster
  • Sport Modified = 3rd place with Bearfoot Racer, 5th place with Equalizer
  • Pro Modified = 2nd with Indominus, 5th place with Equalizer

Now let’s rock out and head down to Knoxville, TN where ROCCK (Radio Operated Car Club of Knoxville) Racing is located. This past weekend they hosted their KnoxVegas opener and team driver Jonah Wilson set the TQ and took the W in the Pro 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes, plus Pro 1/8 Nitro Truggy!

Flowing down to Magee, MS we now catch up with team driver William Ables. He recently visited Saratoga-Flowood RC Raceway for their Magnolia X trophy race, and he finished 3rd overall in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

Crossing the stateline to the east we now head to Huntsville, AL where RC3 (Rocket City Radio Controlled Race Club) is located. This past weekend they completed their five race track championship series and team driver Randy Enger finished in 1st place for both the 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes!

Flying down to Florida we next visit B&T RC Raceway in Crestview. They just wrapped up hosting Round 5 of the Emerge Series and team driver Hunter King TQed and won the Mod 4wd Buggy class, plus he picked up another win in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

Staying in Florida we now turn our attention to the Epic RC Racing Complex located in New Port Richey.

This track hosted Round 6 of the Florida RC Championships this past weekend, and team driver Patrick Rossiter Jr. finished 3rd in the Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy class, plus he set the TQ and took the win in the Open 1/8 Electric Truggy class too! Joining him on the e truggy podium were fellow JC drivers Carlos Gonzalez (2nd) and Nolan Manchester (3rd)!

Speaking of Nolan he also finished 5th in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy class as well!

Heading up the coastline let’s now visit The Hobby Connection in Easley, SC for our next report. This track hosted the TSOC Series Finals over the weekend, and team driver Cade Burnette raced in the Pro 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes. He made both mains but unfortunately suffered a DNF in the nitro 30 minute main. He had better luck in the e buggy class and set the TQ during qualifying and raced on the take the win in the 10 minute A Main!

Also racing for the team at this event was JC pilot Ennis Graves in the 1/8 Nitro Truggy class, and he came home with a TQ and win!

Crossing the border we now head to Thunder Alley RC Speedway in Lucama, NC to see how the team finished up at their 6th Annual Nitro Hero Challenge. Starting with team driver Josh Parris he set the TQ and took the win in the Pro4 Short Course Truck class!

JC driver Luis Diego raced in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy class and came away with the victory! Joining him on the podium was his tire teammate Rusty Mihelich in 3rd place!

Speaking of Rusty, not only did he put down some laps at this race but so did his family! Maddy Long finished 6th in Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy and 2nd place in Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy! Stacey Mihelich finished qualified 2nd overall in the Novice class and raced on to finish there too!

Staying in the state we now head to Overcash RC raceway in Salisbury for this quick update from team driver Derrick Harris. He recently visited this track and signed up to compete in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes at their Halloween race. When the dust had settled he would finish 11th in e buggy and 5th place in e truggy!

Crossing statelines again we now visit Adrenaline RC Raceway in Winchester, VA. Team driver Javon Mallory let us know that he raced in their 7th Annual Adrenaline RC Invitational event, and he ended the event with a 6th place finish in Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy, a 3rd place finish in 1/8 Nitro Buggy, and another 3rd place finish in 13.5 4wd Buggy!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Matthew Sousa. This past weekend he went to the Fall Fury Friday KickOff at RC Madness in Enfield, CT. He competed in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class and was ferocious as he grabbed the TQ and win!
