Race Team Update – May 2026 Week #5

The last weekend in May was another winning one for the JConcepts race team! Read all about it in this week’s Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report out east at Lynchburg RC in Lynchburg, VA.

This track was host to Round 1 of the VCS (Virginia Off-Road Championship Series), and team driver Brian Miskolczi reported that he would finish 5th in Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy and 3rd place in 1/8 Electric Truggy!

His son Layton would finish 6th in e truggy and 4th place in Pro e buggy!

Heading north we now visit Route 183 RC Raceway Schuylkill Haven, PA. This track hosted Round 3 of the Underdog Series so let’s see how the team finished starting with JC driver Matt Adams. He signed for three classes at this round and he would finish 3rd in 360 Sprint along with the TQ in Midget Sprint, plus a 2nd place finish in that class as well as Mod Late Model! Take the W in Mod Late Model was his tire teammate Lance Batdorf who would also finish 2nd in Mod Sprint too!

Next, we head to Beyond the Creek RC Raceway in Swartz Creek, MI for our next round of updates.

This track was host to Round 1 of The Series, and team driver Mike Legue would grab the double TQ in the 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes, then he would race on to finish 2nd in e buggy and 1st place in the nitro class! Joining him on the nitro podium in 5th place was fellow team driver Kyle King and Tony Sosnowicz who finished in 3rd! Tony would also finish 4th overall in the e buggy class too!

Leaping Lake Michigan we splash down at The Yard RC Raceway in Luxemburg, WI.

Last weekend was Round 2 of their Summer Series, and team driver Ryan Derenne was in attendance as he just missed the bump spot in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class, but he made the final in Mod Stadium Truck where he finished in 5th!

Sending it south we now stop in at Dream Fields Coliseum in Waterloo, Illinois which is located just outside of St. Louis. Last weekend OffTrack R/C held their second event there so let’s see how the team finished starting with team driver Chris Parrish. In the Super Leaf class he would finish 2nd overall with 4-Wheel Crazy truck, while over in in Freestyle he would collect the win!

Fellow JC driver Josh Rhodes was also in attendance and he would crush the competition in the Retro class with his Bigfoot IV replica ride!

Crossing the Mississippi river we now make our way over to Send It R.C. Speedway at the Dallas County Fairgrounds in Adel, IA. This past weekend they held a trophy event and team driver David Fast would finish 5th in Mod Sprint and 2nd place in Mod Late Model!

Sending it south again we get another dirt oval update but this time from team driver Brian Stanton. This past weekend he attended the Azalea Nationals at Battle Ground Speedway in Muskogee, OK. He competed in three classes and put in some great results!

  • Mod Sprint – TQ and 1st place
  • 360 Sprint – 2nd place
  • 10.5 Late Model – 2nd place

Heading north we now visit the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) in Omaha, NE. Last weekend was the opening round of their Summer Series so let’s see how the team finished starting with team driver Alex Sturgeon. He reported that he would finish 3rd in Mod 2wd Buggy and 1st place in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy! Joining him on the 17.5 podium in 3rd place was JC pilot TJ Williams!

Team driver David Peavler was also in attendance and he would finish 5th in Mod 2wd Buggy along with the TQ and 2nd place in 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy! Taking 3rd in 40+ was fellow JC driver Brian Cox!

His son Jayme would finish 7th in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy along with the TQ and win in the Independent 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

Heading further north we now catch up with team driver Marco Moreno. This past weekend he attended Round 2 of the Summer Series held at Dakota RC in Jamestown, ND.

He registered for three classes and when the dirt had settled he would finish with a DNF in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class, a 3rd place in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class along with the TQ and win in the Mini Truggy class!

Now we make a diagonal to the Whip It RC in Reno, NV for our next report. Last weekend this track held “The Race” trophy event, and team driver Randy Tanaka was ready to rip as he took the double TQ and win in the 40+ Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes!

Next, we head to sunny California for our next update. JConcepts driver Chris Raceles went to SDRC in San Diego to compete in the 6th and final round of their Supercross Series. After the season points were added up he would finish 2nd in 40+ 2wd Mod Buggy and 1st place in 40+ 4wd Mod Buggy!

Now let’s get some updates from our international team starting with team driver Logan Toia. This past weekend he went to Christchurch, New Zealand for the South Island Indoor Carpet Champs hosted by CIRCCC where he took home the double win in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes which included a TQ in Mod 2wd!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Kasey Dawson. This past weekend he went to Raukawa International Raceway in Palmerston North, New Zealand for the final round of Super 5 Regional Series. After the points were tallied up he would finish 3rd in Mod 2wd Buggy and 1st place in both the Mod 4wd and 1/8 Electric Buggy classes!
